Okay. Here´s a question.

Let´s say that a new meat has come out on the market. This meat is extra tender, meaty and all around just BETTER. It tastes better, it´s easier to prepare, everything. However, in order to produce this meat, the animal of which it belongs to will need to be tortured before it´s slaugthered. As in, with a knife and stuff.

Would you buy it?

Personally, yes. What? They´ll die anyway.

Yes, on the condition that they torture the guy that does the torturing first. Not once, but every time of course.

Oh, and the guy that came up with the idea, him too.

On second thought, no, I wouldn't buy it then either. They should continue to torture the people responsible though. A society is measured by how it treats its animals as far as I'm concerned.

I probably wouldn't go out of my way to avoid it, but if they just put it in the supermarket next to the non-torture meat, I would probably not buy it. But if it would pretty much replace the meat in the supermarket, or in some of the ready made/microwave meals I eat, then fuck it. Sorry, animals!

Umm, no. WTF? Just because something is going to die, that makes it okay to torture it first? No, I'll take my meat a little tough so the thing can just be shot in the head or something.

Nah, most red meat taste like shit anyways unless you know exactly who's farm it came from. I stopped eating red meat out of the market years ago and just pay my uncle for one of his cattle when it comes time to slaughter.

I'd say no. Sadly, this is probably the case anyway in a world where we don't exactly get to view a meat's history before we buy it.

You make meat tender by cooking it though...

Unless you mean like a tender steak, which is horrible.

I like my steak tougher than leather.

You know, veal comes pretty darn close to what you're talking about, and I don't eat that because the animal suffers throughout its life.

I don't mind the concept of killing animals for food, but the killing itself should be done as quickly and humanely as possible.
