So, I'm rubbish at interior decorating. As such, before buying this hugely expensive chair, I'd like your opinion on it.

White shell, black interior.

What do we think? Yay/nay?

Update: So to those talking about relative comfort, this version has an ottoman and armrests, and is cheaper =D

Yeah.. 'Interior Decorating' and 'Egg Chair' should never be used together, unless it's suddenly 1969 again.

However, if you want my opinion just on the chair itself, I can't really say, I don't know the company at all, so I don't know enough to offer anything.

If you want an egg chair, do it the proper way and get one hanging from the ceiling! I've always wanted one like that.

Hmm, it's a tough one. The look of it is sleek and appealing, but that price tag is steep. If you have the cash to splash around, go for it. If you're on a tight budget, I would say maybe look elsewhere.

I think they used these in Men in Black =D

Well, Men in Black is awesome, so if my maths is correct, you buying this particular chair makes you awesome.

Well what it's worth always depends on you, but you are looking at the most expensive dealership for this so it wouldn't hurt to look around for others.

Its an egg chair... here this is what you need.

http://www.la-z-boy.com/product/6727-8373/Full-Reclining-Sofa/ a full reclining sofa. mMmm love those things.

But if your hell bent on getting the egg chair I really can't help you. I've only seen them in movies and the actors always seem to sit naturally in them. I would see if you can try before you buy.

Kitsch can be awesome, though. Wouldn't personally spend money on it, but...

Looking at the exchange rate...that is a horrible price. Even if you like egg chairs, they aren't worth that much. I wouldn't recommend paying that.
On the price tag, this, search about for a cheaper one. But keep in mind that a Egg Chair works well if it kinda blends into the walls and carpet, so a small white rug for under it would help. Other then that, nothing too bad, just need a cheaper one.

what conformists!!!

egg chairs go great with bauhaus class interior decor. think very few possessions, everything is either white, transparent glass, or a certain color (i think you said black) and you have goa trance or light techno playing in the background....

right now i live in a crap apartment.

when i get my dream, i will live in a freaking sci-fi set!

Holy shit, make your room entirely white and get that chair with a black interior. Then dress up like an MIB agent. :p

Not at that price it isn't. Not unless you've got a lot of money to spend on interior decorating. Then again, usually with furniture the policy is cheap, comfortable, stylish: pick two.

nnnnnNo. No. Really, really, no. No-tastically no. One nonormous no and a side of NO.

I can just glance at that thing and immediately know that the egg chair is a terrible idea for all kinds of reasons. Let's consider the things one might do in a chair: Relax; recline; slouch; lean back in comfort; biiiiiig stretch; rest the arms on the arm-rests. In an egg chair, most of these actions are difficult at best, and the one with the arms is impossible.

Want a really stylin' chair that is made of pure comfort and relaxation? I give you the glider-rocker:

I have that exact chair, and ye gods, it is one of the most comfortable pieces of furniture I've had the pleasure to nap on. The cool part is when you tinker with the frame and break it just enough that you can recline until you're pretty much laying down. I don't particularly recommend YOU try to break it, I'm just saying, it has that capability.

Edit: Almost forgot to mention prices. I got mine for a little less than $80 USD, so that would be... maybe 40-50 of your lbs.? I don't feel like looking up the current exchange rates, but I'm pretty sure that guess will give you an idea how much to fork out for the glider-rocker.

Well yes, but your chair looks like an arse, is all I'm saying. The chair would be used to watch TV from across a room, I'm pretty sure leaning back into it, is possible :p

Also I'm using AUD for purchasing rather than pounds. Never fear though, our currency is also, stronger than yours. =D

Yeah I'm thinking black and white needs to be heavily prominent, that's why I found this.

*Looks around the room* Egg chair? Isn't a little early for the 60's of this century?
