Would you have power?

There are many worlds and realities within games and movies and such in which a certain few people have extraordinary powers. For instance, in a world of magic there will be people who were born with a unique gift of the arcane arts, yet there will be many more mundane people in comparison. I want to know that if you lived in a kind of world that allowed for powers beyond that of regular humans, would you be the kind of person to have them, or would you be a regular civilian? Now I'm not asking if you would want have powers, but rather do you think, deep down, you would be the kind of person that does, would you be one of the special few?

I live a mundane life, so I'd probably just be a civilian. I'd want powers though.

Hopefully not.
You all better pray I'll never get any.
I'd be the poster boy for "Power corrupts...".

I'd be one of those people that are horribly killed to show what kind of dangers the actual heroes are up against. Like Star Trek's "Red Shirts", as I believe they're called.
Or, God forbid, I'd be one of those useless people that gets caught by the enemy and has to be escorted to safety.
Point is, I wouldn't have powers nor would I be much help.

On one hand, i was never lucky - so i probaby wouldn't have any straight-up superpowers, like regeneration or eye beams or farting nerve gas. On the other hand, i wouldn't exclude one possibility realistic for me, "power born of madness". Like the Joker, only with less nihilism and more vigilantism.

I'd be a Paladin. Sure that means celibacy, but I am basically a high rank of Cop. And I'd use my power to help all who needed it.

I'd pick the Augs from Deus Ex/Invisible War, sprinkled with some of my own ideas around the concept. How could this be considered a "power"? Easy- the tech, as far as I understand it, is impossible to make functional. The source of the tech's workability? Magic!

If I was in some kind of film or game in which special people get special powers, I'd probably be the disgruntled side character who spends the entire plot slowly defrosting while the protagonist uncovers her tormented past. So yeah, I think I'd just be a regular person who considers people with special powers 'overrated' but secretly wants them for myself.

Statistically, I would be a normal person, but if you look at alot of those who get their powers.... Its always the ones who dont want them that seem to get them. I like my 'uneventful' life so much, and would think that the powers would be more trouble than they are worth, so I would probably get stuck as the designated hero and forced to do something with that power.

I would be a regular civilian who has no dialog and has nothing to do with anything.

Yes, but not to abuse it or to get influence over political rulings.

If anyone has read RJ's The Wheel of Time, I'll refer to the Ajah's (societys in a female magic user's organisation). The Green fights bad stuff, the Red hunts crazy men, the Blue are adventurers, the Yellow are healers, the White stay in the pursuit of logic, the Grey are mediators and peace keepers and the Brown are historians. (That was for those of you who haven't).

I would be a Blue. I would seek adventure and try my best to help causes and individual people but never try and exert power over nations.

I would either be the snarky critic of heroes and villians or I would be The Riddler. Honestly, the Riddler is the greatest douchebag villian out there. I mean, he's not evil for the sake of being evil like most comic book villians, he's just an angry, arrogant prick. I respect that.

My life has been average, but with enough little interesting bits to keep me from being everyone else. In comics or even fantasy games, that's often the perfect precursor to getting awesome power. "Oh no! My mostly-average life has been shattered thanks to the awesome power to shoot lightning bolts from my hands and have EYE LAZUR BEEMS!"

That being said, I'd be the guy who has powe,s but doesn't become a big hero or villian because of it. I'd just go about my life, and use my powers in trivial, unimportant ways. (Cut in front of me in line? LAZUR BEEM at your shoes, so they melt into the ground!) Of course, that opens the cliche of some othe guy with powers deciding that all of a sudden, he needs me. But I'll break tradtition and tell him to fuck off and let me get on with my life. And keep it that way. No sudden change of heart, I just go back to my business.

I'd don't know, it really depends on the situation and the powers. Something like the mutant genes from x-men (used to) crop up in anyone anywhere, so it's possible (but I am passed puberty). Other things like the Nova corps are selected by who represents the most common/average example of their species, I might have a chance at that.

I sincerely don't think I'd deserve something like a green lantern power ring. I'm not smart enough to create a power-armour or super serum, however I am studying to be a doctor so my chances of exposure to some sort of crazy infection, contamination or something might be a bit higher. I'm also the sort of person who'd inject themselves or drink a potion without thinking over the consequence for better or worse if I knew it might give me powers. I'm don't have enough money to become Batman (let alone the physical and mental fortitude).

If we lived in a world of superheroes, I'd be very interested in them, so I'd probably end up in a career related to them, perhaps as a doctor for S.H.I.E.L.D., mutant researcher or something. But my chances of being a hero are unlikely. But I'd probably be willing to take any risk and break any law to get powers as long as no one got harmed, if I had a chance. So yeah...

My life is pretty boring, I sit at home and watch anime all the time, so I guess I wouldn't be pinned as the type to have powers... Which is exactly why I would have powers.

I'd be the jealous guy who hates all these people with special abilities, but can't do anything about it.

...Until I go all Batman and shit on them, and start using technology as my ***** to destroy them all.
