If given the chance, would you join a gaming league? Are you even good enough to be in one? Or would you even want to put up with that kind of environment?

I personally would want to join one. I'm also pretty good at games, but I doubt I'm good enough for any serious sort of league.

Hell no, because as I have already experienced something close to that with MLG, being in a league means that games, the one thing we have to unwind and have, becomes WORK. Every day, your "team leader" is gonna tell you to log on at 7PM to practice for an hour or two. Well fuck you buddy I'll play whenever I feel like it.

Probably not. Seeing as they seem like complete douches.

Plus I don't play many FPSs. Which seems to be "in" for MLG

I don't think I would. Whilst I'm decent at most games I don't think I'd want to do it seriously.

Not on your life. "Professional gamer" usually measures up to "Egotistical Asswipe."

I play for fun, and find that human contact in general tends to hamper it.

I'm good, but I'm not crazy lucky enough or crazy god like enough to ever even place in one of those tournaments. Plus I grow tired of games after a week or so.

No way. Firstly, I'm not good enough, but that's the least important reason.

More importantly, I have better things to be getting on with and I use gaming as a way of relieving the stress created from doing these important things.

Ummm yeah I play in counterstrike ladders, being in australia we only really have 2. But it is loads of fun, I have a really good clan full of people who dont take anything seriously. We do alright, a bit hit and miss lol, but when we are playing well, we play very well.

Dear lord, no! No way, no how, not ever!
Talk about sucking the fun right out of my favourite pastime!

I would totally join a gaming league, but are no where near good enough to join one. Seriously, those guys are those once in a lifetime players you run into on a game. A friend of a friend on XBL got in one for COD4, only played with him once and he raped everyone. He was beyond anyone else I had met in that game.

No, no I would not. Gaming is meant to be a hobby, not to be a professional sport. And besides, why would I want to spend my time with arrogant jackasses who do nothing but boast about how good they are and call everyone else gay? I get enough of that with online play, why would I want to deal with those people for hours on end? I would probably wind up smashing my controller in anger after a while.

Probably not. Being in a League would mean I'd have to start playing to win, and that would mean working hard to be the best at the game in question. If it got to the point where I could earn a living by winning, it probably wouldn't leave me with enough time for anything else.

I'm not opposed to the occasional money match, or even a tournament here or there, but to me, playing video games shouldn't be work.

It depends on what game it is.

If it's a FPS, gimmie a few years. I have to get a new computer to start playing good.

If it's an RPG, i hope it's Guild Wars. Or something that's a worthwhile waste of time that's free.

I used to be pretty hardcore into some league counterstrike play myself. I quite after a couple years when I noticed that serious play wasn't about having fun.

You can count me out.

I could be convinced to join a private league with good friends at a game we all enjoyed, but fuck the MLG/"pro-gamer" scene. I don't have a high enough douchebag quotient.

Yeah I agree with this. That and I don't want to sit in a booth all day yelling out BOOM! HEADSHOT!
