Here's an idea, basically, it's a desktop computer, however, it has a number of extra features.

1. It can play Xbox 360 games, and connect to Xbox live (after you've paid).
2. It can play PS3 games, and connect to PSN.
3. It can play Wii games, and connect to Wii online (or whatever that is).
4. It has a large amount of sockets/ports to allow everything from a controller charger, to a turtle beach headset to plug in, etc.
5. The software is compatible with multiple display units, meaning you could play on all consoles and the PC at the same time.

It does this via emulating the software that runs on it (or maybe just having them built in), and providing a graphical interface to switch between them.

The product would be endorsed by Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, etc. They might release patches to allow a mouse to work on their individual systems, or the maker of this computer would do that (though that may not be allowed by Microsoft, etc). However, you would definitely be able to use other controllers on each system (apart from the Wii, but Move and the Wii controllers could be interchangable).

Kinetic, and Move can be connected via port and will run fine.

The product will sell upwards of 1000 US dollars, probably closer to 2000 and also comes with a controller for each system, as well as headset.

You will be able to access the memory of the PS3, Xbox, Wii, PC from the initial operating system. (It's kind of like an operating system, with four operating systems inside it.)

Oh, and also, you can watch TV on it. If you have the ports plugged in, that will appear on the first OS. So you can play Xbox, PS3, PC, Wii or choose TV.

The PC will comes with some form of Windows 7.

Edit: Oh look, the poll didn't work again. Options were: Yes, No, Need more information, Needs to be cheaper.

In other words, a mega console that runs everything?

Who wouldn't buy such a miracle machine?
Basically a mega console yes.

I have no idea.

I wish someone would make it!

I can scrap together a computer that does 3/4ths of that for a quarter of the cost. So no, I wouldn't buy it, mainly because I am cheap.

So basically you just want one system to rule them all. Well, until that happens, you're just going to have to suck it up. As for if I would buy one... I'm fine with how things are now.

Couple of questions though, how much space will it have? And will I be able to run XP? Call me a dogmatic prat, but I don't really like Vista or 7 much.
You could change the PC operating software however you want.

2 TB shipped with it, and obviously you will be able to add how much extra you would like using the ports.

I get the feeling that having that much hardware might limit the modability of it somewhat.
You wouldn't be able to touch the over arcing OS, but in the inside ones, you could do the same thing you do on anything else.

The first OS is basically providing an interface to access things, and also acting as a driver so everything can work. (For example the extra memory units would have to be able to register with that OS to be usable on all four OS's, but if you only needed extra memory on your PC, that wouldn't be so much a problem because it's likely to be compatible.

Please do so, I'd then purchase it.

With software emulation there really won't be any discernible difference between it and a normal PC.

Except the quality would be questionable. Software emulation is a bit finicky, and can't perform as well as an actual console.

Well, you need the legal backing of Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and all the affiliate companys that make the accessories... So many companies. Microsoft will lose profit on their consoles, ditto with SONY and Nintendo, even if they get royalties...

it would also run you up a few thousand dollars from the sounds of the software needed to run this.

In short, the COnsole companies would never allow it and the person who made this machien would be sued

EDIT: I didn't read the first post all the way through. If the comapnies endoresed it, Great! But it would still run a loss of their individual profits and kill their competition, so realistically, it would never happy.

It's a dream land creation really... Like saying "WOuld you go to an island if you could bring all your friends, be rish, never pay taxes and part ylife away with everything your heart desires?

That's why I was considering just sticking the consoles inside the PC (minusing all the useless bits, and the memory which would be shared).

So for around 2 grand I get a gaming PC and all current gen consoles, plus TV.

Totally depends on the specs of the hardware, if I could build the PC bit separately for cheaper by the price of a PS3 and Xbox, I'd buy them all individually.

For me to be able to purchase such a wonderful machine I would have to stop buying games for awhile.

The one thing that I don't like about this idea is all of the updates that this machine will have to go through.

Well, you could try making that... If you want Sony, Nintendo and MS to laugh in your face.

They'd sue anyone who even considered it.

No. I already have a PC, PS3, Wii, and every decent (in my opinion) 360 game is already on PC. Plus my PC has a bluray reader/writer too...

Eh, if you throw in the ability to play PS2, PS1, XBOX, Gamecube, N64, Sega Megadrive/Genesis, SNES and NES game the I'd be happy to buy one.
