Would You Save Someone?

I would, but I would also risk myself for a complete stranger if they asked, so I'm not a good example.
At least you good samaritans are good for distractions.

On topic, it's entirely dependent on circumstances. If they are close and there are relatively few zombies fine, but if it's a huge safety risk then no.

I'd try to save my best friend since I was 8, and my girlfriend(assuming I have one). Problem is, my friend lives a good 15 minutes away in the middle of a ton of other people and doesn't own a gun, so he's probably screwed. I'd still try to save him though.

I honestly don't have anyone in my life right now (close by) that I would risk saving. I recently moved, so all the people I care about would be to far away to try getting to. So I suppose I would just be on my own then.

Several people, yes. The difficulty is in choosing which one, because there would almost certainly be limited time and resources.

I'd probably choose someone young and fit, likely to have survived the initial wave. Of course, if the Internet were still partly operational (it's likely that it would be for a short period), I'd confirm this and tell people where I'm going, possibly rallying a bunch together or joining a group that was doing this already.

There's actually a Facebook group made for doing that. "If the zombies come, we're meeting at Walmart", or Bunnings as the case is in Australia. Pretty good.

I would save anyone I run into, I have that much faith in my friends that they'll manage as much as I do :).

I'd go with no. One of the big "no no"s of the zombie apocalypse is trying to save your family. Chances are they're dead and it's a stupid pointless risk.

My dog. He's hard as f**k, and going by Hollywood standards, will live through everything thrown at him. In fact, he'd probably save me.

Ahh, one of these threads. The ones where people act the hero when you know that if a zombie apocalypse did happen, they'd run as fast as they could in the opposite direction.
I would save my best friend/ex/whatever. I've risked my life for him before, I'll do it again. Apart from that, I'm on the first boat to Iceland. Apparently, if a disaster happens, Iceland is far enough away from things to survive.

I know one guy who has a large, easily defensible home. We happen to be friends. Yeah I might drive round to his. Then again, his family aren't very nice. Hopefully they're out or something.

You almost turned this thread into a Shaun of the Dead one. Good job!

*ahem* Back to the topic. All the people I'd be willing to protect aren't anywhere near my area, so it'd be hard to try and save them. I'd personally help the zombies by feeding most of the people near me to them. 2 birds with one stone apocalypse.

I wouldn't go miles and miles to save anyone that isn't within my local vicinity. As a natural pessimist, I would assume them to already be dead. I would put a bit of effort in for people around me though, friends and strangers alike. Otherwise, instinct would take over and I would run like hell.

My best friend has a plant hire, so he'll be fine.
My cousin is a hunter and fisherman so he'll be fine.

No worries.

Pretty much anyone I saw.

Obviously I wouldn't last long, but I stand by what i would do.
Pretty much this.
If my family is safe, and that includes my wife, then I'd try and help whoever I ran across.
My best friend lives an hour away (Highway driving), so it's not like I can run next door to see if he's ok. So I'd just help whoever needed it.

The Zombie survival guide also recommends numbers when defending a location so uniting a town would be a good idea.

Absolutely. There is a woman that I love completely, and if I lost her life wouldn't be worth living anyhow. I would seek to save her no matter what.
