WoW: Cataclysm Cinematic Intro Blows Everything Up Forever

..Though the CGI is great, no less.

As far as i know is no one else than the (in)famous Metzen doing the voice of Deathwing for this CGI. So yeah... that would kind of fit the definition.

The clip confused me it seemed like they were smelting shackles on to Deathwing but then it seemed like they were freeing him then that they were putting armor on him. Eh??

Not too fond on this video - doesn't show a lot of story or new features to the game (besides the world revamping)

Also where the hell IS he being kept that he can destroy barrens with his tail, but fly up from snowy mountains and burn alliance areas to shit?

Apparently the dark iron dwarves ripped off his old armor and molded new plates to the dread beast. Now that is a hardcore masochist.

Really disappointing. Compared to Zul'Aman, Fury of the Sunwell, "You Are Not Prepared", this is just so bland. "Hey, I'm a dragon named deathwing. I cause death. Here I am. Watch as I decimate an entire pier and cause significant cracking in a dam."

I don't know what's been happening, but since SC2 Blizzard's storytelling standard is dropping like a rock and flavor is getting more hollow.

The cinematic is aesthetically awesome as always, but everything else was underwhelming. Deathwing has the same Dr. Klaw problem as the Lich King, where he sounds rough but more cartoonish than intimidating or threatening. The scenery destruction was cool, as was Deathwing's touchdown at the gates of Stormwind, but it just doesn't stand up to previous cinematics.

The first two WoW cinematics are by far my favorite. The individual action and conflicts sweep you into the stories and make you want to jump into the action. With both the WotLK and Cata cinematics, it's more like, "oh, there's the baddie I'm going to down at the end of the content cycle" and not much else. I know they're trying to tie in the main villains' roles to their respective xpacs, but in the process they wind up leaving the player out in the process.

Speaking of GW: how long before GW.EN and GW2 was Cataclysm anounced? Cause the "Ancient Dragon wakes up again and destroys the world by flying over it" synopsis sounds vaguely familiar.

Visually stunning, but the music wasn't spectacular (just good, IMO) and there was no defining quote; like "You are not prepared!" to anchor the marketing campaign around.
