For all the talk about building community we heard lately from Blizzard, they actually butchered it with limiting the need for interaction over last patches.
You're exactly right on that. I don't play it anymore, but I think the average heroic dungeon run conversation went something like,
Me: "Hello everyone"
Somebody: "Hurry up." or just silence.
....
....
Boss down, group disbands. Back to Dalran.

After a while, I was wondering why I was even playing a multiplayer game.
I don't think a new expansion is going to change that. Hell, how many people do you think will even know how to get to the new dungeons in the world with the LFG tool there?

So you want us to make your decisions? Please go get me some Gummi-Worms.

OT: To maybe answer your question; Even with all of the reset-zeros and newly treated content, it is still just Another bloody WoW expansion. Maybe the repetiton has caught up with you? You're offtime from the game is becoming more enjoyable? I unno.

If this was all the point to vent a gaming community the debations with yourself, fair enough. Just remember that you still have four-something months to make your choice.

I don't know about you man, but I'm reactivating as soon as Cata comes out. Tons of new, awesome content in a very sound game? Sounds like something I'm interested in.

Well, it could be because you grew so bored with Wrath that your interest in WoW has simply faltered a bit. Also, given that this is the third expansion, it just might be that it is not as new a feeling as it was the first two times.

I'm unfreezing my account once Cataclysm hits, if only to level up a new character and see what they have done with the old world. I would agree that I am not as psyched about this expansion as the last, but I'm still very much looking forward to giving this one a spin.

Ive seen and heard a lot about Cataclysm, can someone please tell me why I am still unphased to reinstall WoW? OK, Cataclysm looks appealing to me however, when the previous expansions came out I was totally psyched for all of them, and for some reason its not the case here, Its not an "cause I have an option thing"
Because they're not really adding much, they're just upgrading old stuff.

And that, good sir, is a patch; not an expansion.

I'm pretty excited for it, but I enjoy leveling.

So, Azerothian quest-content being completely revamped to be brought up to at least the level of the quest quality found in WoTLK is pretty exciting to me (I am sure we'll see a bunch of quests with cinematic and 'epic' feel to them a la Wrathgate). Along with the quote from Ghostcrawler saying that, "In Burning Crusade, players went and finished the Shadowmoon quest lines or got their reps to Exalted or maxed out their trade skills in order to have the best gear available for the heroics and raids. That is our model for Cataclysm."

Not just grinding heroics over and over again for badges to obtain all of your gear sounds A O.K. to me.

What I mean is, when it comes out, I still dont think Ill reinstall it.
You'll have to otherwise you wont be able to get to 80 or play as a DK. Heck you might not even be able to play cata without it.

Acctually they are recreating a LOT of old content. Hundreds of old quests are gone and replaced with brand new ones. Zones totally rebuilt. Thus its an expansion not a patch.

I can understand someone not being too phased by BC and then being put off. Burning Crusade did not develop the game, it didn't really add anything, it was quite tiresome.

However, WotLK has shown that actually they can develop new ways of delivering the story, they can make your quests actually change the world you play in, they can add voice actors and cut scenes and interviews with Blizzard saying that those aspects will be furthered in Cataclysm have me more excited for Cata than I was for WotLK, or TBC.

You really haven't been following Cata, have you?

Several classes are being extremely whacked out: Paladins, for example, are getting a new resource in addition to mana called Holy Power which is accumulated like Runic Energy whenever they use mana-cost spells.

The vanilla zones are being completely tricked out: Blizz has hinted that less than 15% of vanilla quests are going to be available after the Cataclysm.

The talent/spec system is being COMPLETELY revamped for every single class. Rather than getting 1 point/level, you will get far fewer points than that, but there will be fewer what they called "filler" abilities (for example, 2% more armor/point put in).

Two new races, both with EXTENSIVE starting zones (as seen in the Escapist's coverage).

A new 80-85 zone, featuring a massive underwater section (which is, by all accounts, good). AND plenty of new instances.

Cata's adding a LOT more than BC or WotLK did.

It's also taking a lot away.

I've seen what they're doing to Azshara! They turned it into Borean Tundra! Other classic zones are getting ruined too...

Barrens :(

Because WoW is fun for a little while inbetween all the boring parts. Then it gets extremely boring. That was my WoW experience. I played since release and had a lot of fun leveling and raiding with a guild. But then they changed everything with BC. Had a little fun again in wrath but they are doing nothing to innovate in cataclysm. Just adding more of the same content and changing their old content. They should have been doing that already.

You mean they've made it into a zone people will actually go to? Oh the horror.

Yes Cataclysm ONLY adds two races and ONLY adds five levels, but it ONLY completely changes the 1-60 zones, it ONLY changes the mechanics of several classes, it ONLY gives us armadillo pets, it ONLY gives us Deathwing...

But hey, that's not much.

I'm currently levelling a Priest for use in Cataclysm, I'm pretty hyped to see how the zones I've just levelled in will change when I roll a Goblin Shaman in Cataclysm. It'll be fun seeing Thousand Needles and The Barrens completely fucked when, just 2 months earlier, they were fine.

No, it isn't.

Why used to love the Barrens, they were huge and, well, barren. That was the point. It got the player used to the grind the game becomes. In all honesty, I wouldn't go to Azshara, after seeing the new videos, it looks worse than it was before.
