So, they actually do help some people...just not people that need help with game bugs.

Seriously, I've had three relatively simple bugs in cataclysm...and each time I submit a ticket, they promptly say "we're aware of the problem, been working on it...watch forums for updates". And by prompt, I mean at least 24 hours later. And who the hell honestly wants to go into the WoW forums...those things are just wrong.
You avoid the forums in general, and just use a blue tracker that will tell you everything you need. Mmo-champion.com has a good one, and blizzard put a fairly bad one(way to slow) on their website.

if the bug was cata related and not a personal problem then, what did you expect them to say? they were inundated with millions of bug reports after the servers went live.

on topic,
Why didn't the Gm "let me google this for you" would have made me sooo much happier

I believe it. This type of calculus actually has a lot of applications in 3D world generation. It was probably a quick phone call down to programming to get an executable for this.

I'd say it's real. I once asked them how Baron Rivendare falls of his horse. Leaves it there, and yet there's only a 1% chance of picking it up.

I got back an epic story involving robots from the future and aliens.

I was satisfied with this answer. B)

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if this is real. I mean, I often post problems in the chatrooms of online games and get a legitimate answer back.
And of course

This is just another way Blizz prevents you from having a real life.

...the hell is this?!? If this is a true story, GM's must have even less of a life than the average WoW player. This is weird.
Wow, way to insult all kinds of people. Because all WoW players have no lives right? Just like alll Misterpinkys love to stereotype people who play video games on a video game website

OT: Nice, I do enjoy blizzard's customer service actually being a service.

This is fake, due to the spelling errors within the gm's reply at the end of his message back to the customer. Blizzard doesn't employ people that spell wrong :p
Actually, GM's are perfectly capable of misspelling things from time to time. I should know, I was a WoW GM. Retired now, but we did always enjoy seeing our responses on wowbash, usually followed by the comment of "fake".

Also, if anyone here was on the EU realms and had a request denied by GM Sedrowsk, I only did it because I hated you. :p

If that actually happened then that is hilarious.

If it is just a doctored screenshot then it is simply slightly amusing.
If it actually happened, it would be mildly amusing.

If it's doctored, expect a lot of annoyed GMs when their inboxes are filled with math questions instead of actual game problems.

I'd probably say it's doctored, though it is kind of cool to think that Blizz takes care of 'problems' like these too.

But I wouldn't say this makes a good story.

That's crazy.

And I'm with G'sC, all I saw was letters. Math =/= letters.
Were you attempting to be funny here? Because:

A) It did include numbers,
B) Letters are used in mathematics and
C) What would be funny about this if you're not serious?

I would like this to be true, although someone would surely only submit something like this as a prank.

This is funny but upsetting at the same time if it is true. The response times are really really long to begin with. A CSR/GM spending time doing this instead of solving real issues is a problem, unless of course the GM was doing on his/her time off.

Soon WoW GMs will be helping with a wide variety of extracurricular issues ranging from tax preparation to "the talk."

GM in wow will usually take on average 3 days to respond to a ticket so good luck getting it on time...

let me restate that the exact copy-paste question and exact copy-paste answer can be found on answers.yahoo:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101214010253AAH1igW

either the person directly pasted from that site and GM pasted from the same site as well, or the whole thing is doctored. either way, nobody put a lot of effort into anything
