WoW is not boring or getting old. it is fun to play. I will however agree that WOTLK is not really a add on, but for the most part it is ok.

I felt that the leveling content was pretty refreshing from the TBC and vanilla stuff. It was much more diverse, and storylines were much better interwoven with the questing content. Questing has improved a LOT compared to vanilla and TBC, they should really overhaul that to bring it up to standard.
I lóved my trip from 70 to 80, and Northrend is a beautifull continent. But what WotLK definatly lacks is lasting appeal. The endgame really is the same ol' same ol', and there is barely any of it. Most guilds are picking their noses now, waiting for Ulduar. That's also looking up to be quite refreshing from the usual raid-style. I won't be able to actually play the instance, but it's looking pretty good.
Anyway, in short, while the road to 80 is refreshing, right now staying at 80 is really the same as usual. I enjoyed WotLK a lót for 3 months, after that I simply ran out of content, and I'm not the farmer kind of guy so I stopped playing. I have no regrets though. Some people call leveling to 80 "pointless", but that's like they're seeing it as a neccesary evil to reach some meta-game. I completely dissagree, don't forget that the majority of the content is still in the road to 80, and not in the endgame stuff. Why barely pay attention to all that, why can't you just enjoy the whole game instead of just racing towards a goal? A wise man once sad, the road towards the goal is just as important as the goal itself.

I heard they're adding something new to it's pvp system in the next patch. Sure the expansion itself didn't add something new but the patches sure do.Mokinokaro said:

I think WoW would be better off if it were less conventional. Everything it does has already been done in some other game. I found it a chore to play, and I couldn't bring myself past level 25. All the quests are similar. They're all pretty much "Bring me X number of Y, which can be found in Z", and they don't even try to mix them up. They're really "Bring me 10 Murloc Brains. Like, now."
You CAN make a quest more interesting by using set pieces, triggered events and some interesting dialogue. There is one quest in GW: Nightfall where you have to go with a guy called Hogun to rescue his kidnapped fiancée from Corsairs. When you get there, it turns out that Hogun actually sided with the corsairs, and wanted to kill you and your group to get some loot. When you inevitably kill Hogun and his corsairs, you escort Ailonseh (the "fiancee") back to where her father lives, and he rewards you for rescuing her. So, a simple "Go here, kill these guys, go to this other place" quest becomes so much more interesting.

I feel that WoW's original game world is sadly lacking and they would need to rebuild Azeroth's 1-60 level areas completely with fun, streamlining, greater variety and a more meaningful feel to the quests and a greater adundance of resources in mind. Oh, and rework blacksmithing and similar to make it worth the absurd amount of trouble.
And single out twinks in BGs, make them eligible only for twink bgs, and unable to join normal ones. They could run a check for the number of rare quality items, enchantments, etc. I could go on, but I think I've covered a few good points at least...

Yes it is, I quit but came back to try the death knight after giving up the abysmal and depressing life of a resto druid and the DK quests to 60 were fun and new but then we went back to outland for more grind and depressing landscapes it's a shame they didn'tmake your DK start at 70 is your guy was 70 etc. Hopefully that overrated behemoth WoW will fall and let truly decent MMO's like city of heroes that isn't all grind and gear will shine and perhaps we'll get to see some innovative and original MMO's of course this'll probably happen around the same time they make a decent Sonic game on a next generation console
MMORPG have a natural lifespan of 4-5 years. WoW is a rulebreaker and will likely last longer. The problem with WoW and most MMO's, is that you see the draw of the game within the first 10-mins. The starter quests in the new zones are not much different from the latter ones. Although in Lich King you do take over other NPC's which is fun and get to ride on different mounts. The phasing system is also pretty unique and feels like a zone within a zone. However PvP has been utterly butchered.
The trick with MMO's is that when you quit you feel that "Oh I can't quit I've put in 500 hours, it will go to waste". Well guess what those 500 hours were wasted anyway! Do all those who have been from the start have fancy trophies showing off past glories, only if you like at their achievements, which kind of makes pre-TBC feel like a waste. Also Blizzard wanted to make Lich King different from TBC, but they made it too different. There is no continuation of the story.
The real draw with WoW and why it is so succesful is that it plays smoothly and there is almost no downtime, unlike previous MMO's that was a big breath of fresh air.
However I strongly believe that the US/EU markets are sagging and the only reason the subscriber base has got to 11.5 million is because they have expanded to Russia, Brazil and China.
I will make a bet with everyone here, that by the end of this year the numbers in EU/US will drop to the point that there will be server merges/closures/recylced for other markets.

With the new patches the game should not be getting old. at least i do not think it is getting old.
Im sorry, If WoW was a person it would be the creepy old pervert from family guy that keeps trying to hang out with little kids. Its time to dig the WoW grave.
It may be getting old but the thing is that it still keeps people playing. I agree though that the game devs could take the time to do some revamping but then what about us level 80's who worked hard to get to that point? Blizzard specifically said, "We are not planning on changing any content pre-wrath." I mean, it takes up more time and effort which could be designing new content and expansions. Just quit QQing and play thru the game like anything else.
Every MMORPG repeats itself in the first 10 minutes of the game. You get quests, you kill stuff, you level. Some, however, are more entertaining. I was almost addicted to WoW for one month. After that, I hated it. After quite a few months of a break, I started liking it again. Now I dislike it. Others play for hours a day. Everyone has their own opinion and everyone will give you a different answer on why they still play or why they stopped. In my opinion, the game gets tiresome really easily. You have to get extremely lucky to find a good drop which makes buying items so much harder, and it takes forever to level. Other people find these things more of a challenge while it just makes the game so much less enjoyable for me. I love a challenge but having to play for 3 weeks over an hour a day to get from level 78 to 80 is just too much for me. (It may even be more. The highest i've got it to 40)
