A couple days ago I was bored, browsing Youtube for random junk to keep myself entertained, and I came across something I never knew. Robert Downey Jr has a music career. I heard one of his songs and he sounded pretty damn good. I found it interesting because I never looked at him as a musician, and now I see him in a new light. I never would have seen this coming from Robert Downey Jr.

Think Im kidding? Take a listen:

So my question to you is: What is something you've found out about a famous person (or not famous, your choice) that you never knew and seriously suprised you?

I guess when it was announced that Robin Williams was an avid gamer and that Jesper Stromblad from In Flames is an avid WoW player.

Avid is a popular word these days.

He played Iron Man.

OT, yeah, I heard of his music stuff before. Thought most of it sucked though.

Also, Jesper Strömblad (guitarist for In Flames) plays WoW.

I'm not really a fan, but this made me like him considerably more. I like that he can parody his own songs.

RDJ does martial arts too...

no, for me it was learning keanu reeves had a band and loved riding fast motorbikes (seriously, fucking speed right there).
it was more that he had this band which wasn't great, but he loved, and his actual "job", as it were, is being an actor. also when he did much ado about nothing playing don john... that was actually really good, it suited him well.

Believe it or not, I knew this. He was in my town once making a movie when I stopped by a guitar shop on the way home only to find him noodling around on a PRS. We jammed for about 10 minutes. Good times.

I was shocked when I read "Letters To Rollins" and found out that Henry Rollins had children's albums. At first I swore the book was fake and that they were pulling my leg. In fact I'm still not sure...

News flash: Famous people are just regular slobs when not on camera just like you and me. I never will understand the whole interest in 'celebrities.'

You want to see someone with a hobby you wouldn't guess in a million years?
Guys like this are way more interesting than any famous schmuck.

When I found out how much of a nerd Vin Diesel was it surprised and also pleased me. I loved him before that and it just made me love him even more.

John Mayer has a mad sense of humour. Check out his Twitter thing.

Note: The only time I've ever been on Twitter is to look at his page, don't judge me.

That Viggo Mortensen and Buckethead had collaborated on not one, but like 8 studio albums was a somewhat surprising bit of trivia I picked up recently, since I wasn't previously aware that Mortensen had made any albums in the first place.

Have you seen his show? When he has concerts at a football stadiums or other sport stadiums, he goes around in mascot suits and talks to tailgaters. Most of the time he bashes himself and watches how his fans react and defend him. Its pretty funny. He says things like "Man, this John Myer dude sounds like a real ass. I bet his music sucks." The fact that he says his name wrong makes it all the better. I have a lot of respect for John Mayer. Hes a funny guy.

I had no idea he had a show, but I'm glad that he does. He does that sort of stuff on his Twitter page. You should really check it out, if you haven't already. And he does rag on himself a bit.
