First off, If you don't get the title it's from a thread I did a few days ago in which I likened Azeroth to being the most accesible home I still have. ( I mean a spiritual, peace of mind, home.I'm not sitting here in the gutter with a laptop)

Ok so I recently rebought and reinstalled WoW, unkowingly I had switched from a American version and account to a European version with no account. So I finally installed and patched everything and was shot down when I discovered this horrible truth on the Game Card, I'm in contact with Blizzard at the moment to see if I can somehow bring up the US realmlist and if possible get a swap for the time I bought into time I can use for my account.

But knowing how busy Blizzard is....

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can possibly do?

Knowing blizzard you could just try to bribe them with a jar of human souls, theyt just can't get enough of those things.
also credit card payment if its the game card thats the problem, if its the game, get the american version from a buddy.

I probably forgot to ceremoniously mention (It's been my thing for a while now) That I've moved from one end of the earth to the other (New Zealand to Ireland) and the chances of one of my friends that play back in NZ shipping me over the clients is a bit slim, mind you I have my own copies coming by boat in a few weeks but they're from when the game was very young and thus are going to be a arse-pain to patch up.

Also I've tried to convince my parents for the last little while now that a subscription is the smarter idea, but they still see it as "safer" to buy gamecards, hopefully this little slip-up will either change their opinion or mean that 77 levels (warrior levels too..../cry) have just been flushed.

you know what i do when in need of patching, i get my friends to put their fully patched version on a dvd and send that to me. it works fine, i still have to buy an account or upgrade the other one though.
That's not a bad idea actually, I could probably do the same thing by taking the patches of the new copy and moving them into the old files....that or I just use my old computer (It has XP and not vista so that means it's less of a pain to do anything with)

What's with all the soul jokes, is this an meme I've missed because I actually support the game?

Nah, there's no meme.
WoW's just a famous punching bag for being a polished, famous MMO.
People like hating famous things. You ask why? Well, you're guess is as good as mine.
Oh ok, thanks for the clear up.
Polished like glass? I fucking hate glass.
(Sorry it's late and I start cracking terrible jokes around this time.)

WoW is famous for soul stealing because some people get seriously addicted to it. And i mean seriously addicted to it. Its the same with any addiction people do anything to feed their habit and it can be quite sad to see friends spend all their free time infront of their computer than with actual real people.

However normal people play wow and enjoy it in moderation myself included, although today is a bad example since i've been playing for the last 5/6 hours and am now fairly tired as its half 2 in the morning. (Doesnt happen very often though :D)

Good night everyone, enjoy your soul-stealing jokes, if blizz hasn't responded by tomorrow I'm going to necro this thread and hopefully get some more ideas going. :D
