A nearly ten year long joke. Seriously, Brian Clevinger, You've outdone yourself.

Anywho, have you ever been so amazed by the work put into something, that you don't care that it should have, by all accounts, been a kick in the balls?

In before Avatar.

OT: Yeah, a couple of times with modern video games. (I generally play on the Wii, okay? I'm not used to these astonishing graphics). A bad game but it looks so brilliant I can't hate it.

Huh? All I see is a set up in a webcomic? People are babbling on about games and a kick in the balls?

I have officially entered the scary thread.

Basically, this comic has been going for 1221 episodes. In the 6th episode, Fighter uses a Nintendo guide to find out how much HP the ogre has. Hundreds of episodes later, after wondering how to beat the big baddy, they figure out that they could have just checked the guide. It's basically the longest setup for a kick in the balls... ever.

After looking at this thread and noticing it was about 8-bit Theater, I decided (without clicking the links or even reading the posts) to see if the comic had finished. I'd left off right around <color=white>Sarda turning into Chaos, a few months ago.

Then it got to the very last comic, which I found amusing, but kind of confusing. But I knew I'd seen that magazine somewhere before. So I thought about it.

And thought about it...

...

Then I started laughing so hard I almost pitched forward and smashed into my computer. As is, I managed to laugh myself into a headache and a coughing fit.

This was the first webcomic I ever started reading. I've seriously been reading it for seven or eight years, and I've never stopped being impressed at how Brian Clevinger can not only make up for the art limitations of a sprite comic, but craft humorous and quotable dialogue (from the sarcastic and snide, to the meaningful, to the gibberingly inane) to make me laugh all those years.

So yes, I agree completely. That last page didn't really feel like a kick to the balls. It felt closer to an ultimate expression of everything I loved about the comic.
