Unless I misinterpreted the article earlier, the TRIAL is now UNLIMITED time-wise. Besides, if it was free to play all the way to level cap, I would probably stop playing, if I hadn't already.

The game is already full of morons, being F2P til level cap would just add to that, and that's why I quit.

1. Was in a guild that couldn't clear Naxxramas, and still wanted to focus on Ulduar.
2. Came back during ToC, same guild formed a 25-man super team (we used to just take whoever was online... it was retarded), quit again when we couldn't clear the first boss in ICC (we began our old raid policy, whoever is on gets in)
3. My friend gets me into a guild that's clearing heroic ICC 25, I quit about 2 weeks after getting Shadowmourne
4. Came back for Cata with a new guild, started raiding, realized we only had 4 "good" people, quit because I didn't want to find a new guild, and all my friends had stopped playing weeks ago for the same reason.

I might go back when the next expansion comes out, but only if I can convince some of my friends to join me.

The amount it costs is a pitance, 30p a day, far cheaper for play values than other games. So it wouldn't affect me.

This attitude puzzles me. Some of the best stuff is low/mid-level stuff. For example, VC, the very first instance on Alliance side (unless they've added an even lower one in the past few years) is pretty damn awesome. Horde side had some good low-level stuff too.

Hell, I didn't even like a lot of the end-game stuff.
Also from the sound of things, you don't enjoy lower level content. Obviously the game is just not for you.
Except the end game content is where all the development time/balancing goes. I wouldn't mind if the earlier stuff was actually worked on by Blizzard.
In cataclysm, 80% of resources and development time was spent on pre-end game content, only 20% was on endgame.

Gave it a go. Turns out if you have a current WoW account then you get a second 'trial account' to play on, so if you reach level 20 and want to keep playing you have to buy the game again.

It's a shame really, if I could go on my main account and level to 20 for free on there it'd probably be enough to get me hooked again. Their loss really...

of coarse I would stick with WoW if it went free, I'm addicted to it now while it has a subscription fee. Besides, PvP would be a lot more fun >:D

I'm not sure how there could be a "flood of noobs" when the game is already filled to the brim with idiots. I swear some of these people shouldn't be allowed on a computer, for their own safety.
lol I can confirm this statement. Besides my friends and I, nearly every person I meet in a dungeon never does their job right even if I explain it in full

Nope. I tried WoW out with the free week trial and didn't care for it. I tried because all my friends were playing it and I just couldn't get into it. I wish I could as they played it for like 2 years while I was playing other stuff. The cost isn't really the issue for me.
The leveling isn't the fun part. It gets fun after level 60.
I would have to disagree with you there. BC dungeons are way too easy and most of the quests are still boring (with a few exceptions). I've leveled up a few characters to max and didn't really start getting fun or challenging until Lich King :p

Haven't touched my account in a good 5 years nearlyish, and I plan to keep breaking that record.
*fixed

I would probably check it out to see what's changed and all, but the last two times I returned to WoW, I got bored very fast, though Cataclysm could make it interesting to start a character from scratch again.
