No I applaud the raid finder, if you're willing to subject yourself to the will of the Roulette-of-Arsehole-Pick-up-groups and get a taste or crash course in raiding, it opens up some people to the possibility that applying to a dedicated raiding guild might be right up their ally, and that they're now prepared for it. And dammit do we ever need new applicants because god.dawmn. Is my server dying a slow raiding death. All of the top 3 horde guilds on my server have been discussing this and it turns out none of us have had any new applications for a donkeys age. And we're talking 6 year old guilds here, not the "We put ourselves together in Wotlk because everybuddy could raid yay" No we're talking the Molten Core - Sunwell and beyond crowd...

And I'm no elitist, I think everyone SHOULD be able to raid, but newer levels of difficulty were and are still needed and I still believe 10man for a game that holds 30+ Spec class combinations is ridiculous and 15man raids should be highly considered when constructing the next expansion... But I've made my point where it needs to be on the official forums so...we'll see what comes of that.

Cataclysm certainly was what it's name implies but not in a very epic way... Oh well here's to the next expansion.
I think 10 mans worked because you just put 2 heroic dungeon groups together, hopefully with one of the DPS having a healing offspec, or else a Holy Paladin. Getting much larger presents the issue of what to do with the tanks... There may be a tank shortage for heroics, but raiding guilds on my server never had that problem. Once you got to 25 mans, you had the same 2 tanks and a DPS who tanked the whole 3 fights that required a 3rd tank. All that said, it was good to be a tank... Since I was the top geared tank in the guild, I got all the fun of running the raid with none of the hassle of gathering the people.

10man works if you are one of the Niche characters. Which Pretty much consists of which ever tanks are favored, the best holy paladin and 4 strong ranged dps. 10 does an utter rape of 10mans who do not consist of this formula or who are unable to flexibly change out people on a whim on heroic raids due to the format or requirements. This was definitely the case in Bastion of Twilight Heroic and continues to irk me because I believe it limits the creativity and freedom Blizzard has on it's encounter creation. 15man opens up another layer of player capability and diversity, halts the need for constant downgrading of class unique traits without overwhelming 10man fans too much. It's just... okay i've gone over this in length before, but it's a better alternative. It is. 10man is broken and is affecting the game negatively.

Edit: Incase you were wondering I AM a niche character, Being a strong holy paladin has it's perks such as always getting to raid, but where does that leave everyone else should the poor rogues services be unrequired for this particular encounter. Or hell Retribution has finally been coined useless to raiding in general, they bring nothing other paladins and classes can't and all because having to homogenize all the classes has brought us to this point.

Yeah, I'm done. Canceled my sub weeks ago, it runs out in October, and I'm not seeing anything that warrants me renewing. I barely play anymore and when I do, it's just not fun anymore. Looking forward to testing the MMO waters next year, Guild Wars 2 in particular, though Tera Online looks interesting as well.

I think my group had 2 rogues, 2 hunters, a lock, and a mage/DK for our DPS, with a Holy Paladin and Shaman healing, and a feral druid and prot paladin tanking. Class only matters if your groups is min/maxing and since we didn't even have a shaman for Blood Lust until a druid got hacked, it's fair to say we weren't, though I can see where you are coming from. So long as Blizzard adds the need for a 3rd tank, I would be fine with 15 man raids.

Eurgh I'm so tired of wow and all these "new" changes aren't really doing anything to change that. I'm not saying it's a bad game but just after 4 years I think I've had more than enough.

So glad to see the end of Cataclysm.

I sure hope they don't do another 5 level expansion. Though that would mean they'd need to make the next one a 15 level expansion, and you know, I'd be fine with that.

I want a nice big continent with its own unique art style, stories and quests.

Christs sake, we're at the end of Cataclysm already?

It's official. They don't care about thier own game anymore. They really, truly don't.

*Is glad that I quit and got subsequently hacked*

I love how Blizzard is saying that people who can't raid can now with this new raid finder, yet they can only do 25-man easy-mode raids, which give easy-mode gear, making the whole thing almost entirely pointless. Way to go Blizzard, one more part of the game that is absolutely retarded.
Does it make it retarded? I've quit, but this patch has seriously got me eyeing WoW up again. I was never a hardcore raider, I wanted to get into the story of the expansions. The problem was that I was never well geared enough to do endgame raids (which is why in TBC I did vanilla raids, BC raids in Wotlk, and killed Arthas in Cata). This easymode raid gives me a chance to experience the story without the drag of having to grind endlessly for gear which I honestly don't give a fuck about; I just want to have the satisfaction of murdering the final boss. And I feel like that's worth paying for.

I guess if you don't care about the gear, I guess it isn't retarded. For you, at least.

My perspective comes from being in a mediocre raiding guild where I had been denied a raid spot simply because the average iLevel on my gear was too low. After a certain point, the entirety of WoW became a huge gear-fest, with loot being the only reason I did anything, because it was the only thing I had to look forward to after killing a boss, because it was the only thing that got me anywhere. perhaps the next patch (or next expansion) after 4.3 I'll hop back in to see what the fuss is about.

So, at 4.3 and Deathwing dies, what's going to happen for the year+ void between 4.3 and the next expansion? Sunwell II?
Players don't like farming the same content for a year and also don't like shoe-horned in lore.

My friend and I were discussing how it would be really awesome if the Deathwing raid was exactly the future that the first dungeon was apart of, and his death on the spire was all your doing, leading to the destruction of azeroth as we know it.

We figured it would be the perfect way to end WoW. Yhen a 1000 years down the line, when the world has recovered in WoW 2 (And since Wow ended so disastrously, you can completely redesign the world to give it a fresh feel despite being the same planet,) the new heroes have to deal with levels of threat that are no longer on a such a grand scale, leading up to the titans returning and the old gods.

This is a storyline I'd actually like to see done. King Magni takes leadership of the Alliance while Prince Anduin prepares to take his father's throne. I think the kid would make a good leader of the Alliance and King of Stormwind.
My friend and I were pointing out how dumb the whole alliance allegiance thing actually is. With the horde, it all makes sense why Thrall is the leader. He's taken every member in under his protections, but Varian the leader of the alliance? What makes him better than Magni, Elf *****, OR the Draenie? There's no reason the other leaders of the alliance should hold such allegiance to the King of Stormwind. He's a terrible leader than no one agrees with, and each have their own, well established, kingdoms to tend to. Sure they can back each other like a real alliance does during times of war and strife, but no one person rules the entire alliance.

That being said... Magni is by far the best alliance racial leader.

Also, from what I understand, Baine would make an excellent new Warchief.

I disagree. He takes much too long to make decisions, prefering to hold council meetings with other leaders regarding issues. Thrall had the ability to think and decide the best course of action quickly, even if quickly regarding the advice of Vol'jin or Cairne.

I don't think there should be a new Warchief. I'd like to see Thrall come and lead the Orcs, but not preside over the entire Horde. Lady Windrunner is too independent anyway.
