Ok so, i wanted to try roleplaying on WoW (european servers), and every RP server i looked at didnt really feature any roleplaying. When i brought up the topic, i was laughed at.
Erm, is there a server which actually does bother with roleplaying?
Most of them, just not very public. My recommendation? Find a guild, and go from there, make contacts with the other roleplayers, see if there is a LFRP-channel on the server. Unfortunately, due to the high amount of players in WoW, every server is infested with OOC-tards who try to ruin your enjoyment of the game by dancing on tables and stuff.

I have a lv1 Gnome on Earthen Ring. I only made it to see what an RP realm was like, and people were walking around the towns, emoting and using proper grammar, it seemed like a decent RP realm. I'd maybe try that if I were you, although I could've just been lucky with who I met, and it could actually be a troll infested cesspit like the server I play on.
A lot of RPers tend to oddly be more secluded since, sadly, RP realms are also full of non-RPers or the kind of people who hang around Silvermoon and Goldshire naked and cybersexing. Perhaps you should check out a few of the WoW RP Server forums to find out a bit more about them first, maybe post a few threads asking questions and whatnot.
I play on an awesome US RP server, Earthen Ring. There, the RP is generally done among guildies, or people who schedule them via the official forums (There have been some pretty cool RP-events I've stumbled upon). I think it's a fairly typical setup though - I don't think you're going to find any servers in WoW where RP'ing is done by everyone on the server. The communities tend to rock on the servers though, at least on this side of the Atlantic.
2-3 years ago i'd say Defias Brotherhood, it was RP-PvP server with lots of RP plots and events going on and late evening you could find me and my guildies doing wicked stuff in Stormwinds Square, especially when our guild warlock gnome joined us with his crazy shenanigans. But yeah... that was 2-3 years ago and most of us stopped playing WoW.
I don't know how it looks these days, i guess if you browsed realm forums you could get idea where people still can be bothered.
Most RP-servers I've played on have had quite a few very good RP-guilds.
When I still played WoW, my own personal hangout was Argent Dawn. Encountered alot of players who stayed in character, in both factions. You just have to sift through the people who mistake "RP-server" for "Act Like A Moron-server".
