WPA vs. WEP

I don't really understand the difference between these two internet securities. I want the ability to use my DS on my Wi-Fi internet but I need to change my connection to WEP, is there any major downside to switching? (I.E. Slower connection, lesser prevention of viruses, etc...)

As far as I am aware, WPA is less secure than WEP. But on the average I think people are way too afraid of random hackers in their neighborhoods. Either or doesn't really matter unless you're heavy into security... then stick to WEP

It is I believe, WEP's are very easy to crack these days. Though that doesn't mean WPA's are foolproof but most people would use them these days.

Well, I don't think that any of my neighbors are big on hacking, lol.
