Are any fellow escapists also fans of wrestling? WWE, TNA, ROH? We are all friends here!
If so, who are your favorites and who do you want to win Hell in a Cell?
Also guise, try to avoid a flame war...

Yea, I am. Not much to say after that.
It's far more fascinating to talk about all the BIZARRELY negative criticism we receive for DARING to be wrestling fans. Why it's ALMOST like we enjoy a form of entertainment that other people don't, and are just supposed to put up with the ribbing and the jokes about "hurr durr fake" and "hurr durr rednecks" and "hurr durr homoeroticism/gay panic".
Screw that!
High Culture, Low Culture...Throw it all up in the air and PUKE ON IT ALL.

As Sane said, we have a user group full of lovely people.

TNA fan myself, don't watch much WWE. Used to but most of my faves left and now I don't know half the roster so gave up.

As far as favourite TNA wrestlers go. AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Magnus, James Storm, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, Jay Lethal (even though he's gone, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelly (another one gone), Amazing Red ..... To be fair, I like most of them.

Kurt Angle has had a better push at TNA than WWE gave him. The gimmicks he had at WWE made him look pathetic (I like milk).

Ken Anderson I liked at WWE aswell as TNA.

Jeff Hardy, to be fair I never did like him but my wife does.

I used to love the X Division but it's been slaughtered recently. Haven't seen a decent X Division match in a long time.

It does annoy me that some of the top guys at TNA have been pushed aside for ex WWE folks. AJ, Joe and Daniels should be in the title picture but Hardy must have slept with the right people.

My biggest problem with TNA is the bloody writing. Some of the story lines are utter shit (Winter and Angelina ... time travelling lesbian vampires ... oh fucking dear). And this past year has seen it go from a decent wrestling program to a bloody chat show. We get about 4 or 5 matches in a 2 hour show and the rest is chatting.

We know we need promo's to "set the scene" for feuds and whatnot but not over an hours worth while the wrestling suffers. Especially when a lot of those promo's seem to have been penned by an autistic Baboon.

i used to watch tna casually but it got so awful i think im put off of it forever. im told its gotten good again but the damage will always be done. as for wwe im a huge fan. Hell in a Cell looks to be a good ppv but i think ryback is main eventing to soon. With the rock allready set to face the champion at the rumble i cant see see punk losing the title which is disapointing since im a fan of ryback and i wanted him to be the modern day goldberg.

I miss Vince Russo.

Guy was probably the worst booker in the history of the sport, but you know what? At least he never looked at a guy and said "Well, I got nothing for you." if he didn't have nothing for you, he'd rack his brain till he thought of something that fit.

He's the one that made Val Venis into a sleazy porn star. Occasionally, he's right.

I still think the Velvet Sky bullying story line (When she got beat up by ODB, Gail and that other one who I forget around the time she was being pushed for the Knockouts title for a good month or so.) is the worst story line I've seen come from TNA. :p

And as for the X Division, they kinda fucked that up when they pushed Austin to the TNA Title, I think. Now, all they have is Zema as the guy. They need to allow wrestlers like Samoa Joe back in there. The match he had with Aries at Destination X was fantastic to watch. :p

OT: I've been a fan of wrestling since...98, I think. Back when they used to show WWF on Channel 4 in England. I watch TNA mainly but I keep on top of WWE as well.

watch some UK indy stuff, used to watch TNA until Hogan stepped in and it kinda went down the pan and now back with WWE RAW and PPV's.

As for Hell in't Cell, I want Punk to win and Miz to win, not just because I don't cheer for the good guys, but, because I think The Miz is highly under-utilised and CM Punk is a victim of a black and white story arch, if he was allowed to be an anti-face rather than heel he'd be far more effective.

....Did I join that group...can't remember

I've been watching wrestling on and off since the Attitude era, and I try to watch Monday Night Raw at least each week since that's generally my relaxing day. I also catch about half of TNA on Thursdays, either because I missed the first half due to work or I turned it off half way through because it's usually pretty terribad.

When TNA started up, it was fantastic. The Motor City Machine guns were my favourite at the time, as TNA made tag team matches quite exciting. I also liked how their ring wasn't a square, and I think when they switched to the square'd circle, that's about when they began to go downhill. Also, half their roster is old and while I respect (and formerly enjoyed) their work in the ring, they're just getting too sloppy these days in my opinion. However, the Diva's division (forget what it's called) was actually impressive when I used to watch it, which I thought was fantastic. They had some girls who could really wrestle, and I actually enjoyed watching them do so... unlike the WWE diva's who are purely eye candy and their matches are almost always a joke.

WWE is where I stay now, though I haven't been following the stories quite as much as I did before. Daniel Bryan was fantastic when he was chanting "YES!" for a while and messing with AJ, but he's gone downhill since then sadly. The Miz used to be my favourite when he had a "feud" with John Cena, because he's incredible on the mic.. but he's also gone downhill a lot since then. I'm not really sure I have a favourite at the moment, but I like almost everyone on Monday Night Raw at least. Yes, even Cena.

I used to watch WCW and WWF religiously during the 90s-early 2000's but slowed down as I got older. I came back during the PG Era and tried to stick with it but when Triple H (my favorite wrestler) finally threw in the towel, so did I.

I have been a wrestling fan forever and you must be the first one to say something oike that :p. Personnally, i thought it was a good move to remove him from TNA. The guy almost KILLED them...today, it's better but they are still putting the pieces of the ship back together. Their reputation was so hurt when he was cheif writer that today TNA is almost like a running gag from wrestling fans.

But what pisses me off the most about Russo is the fact that he never says "i know, it was a mistake and i won't do it again". When you watch an interview with him, he always tries to blame somebody else about the mistakes that he made.

"Why have you put the belt on David Arquette ?"

"I know what you're saying but this happened and this happened and it was Tony Schiavone's idea and not mine and blah blah blah blah blah."

Yes, Russo had some good ideas but his best days are FAAAARRR behind...like Hogan...by the way, WHY THE FUCK IS HE STILL ON TV ? Put him commentator with Taz and Tenay or something but stop putting him in the storylines !

Im not watching much of wrestling anymore. I keep in tough though (i read PPV results and whatnot). I have nothing against the roster, i think it's fine and everything. The only Main-Eventer that i don't like is CM Punk. Yes, he's a solid worker yes, he's a good champion but i just really really do not like his promos. They really seem repetitive to me, it's always "Best In the World", "Pipe Bomb" etc... What struck me the most is i a promo from him back in ROH (i think that it was after he won the belt) he said: "In someone else's hand this is just a mic, but in my hands...it's a pipe bomb". Sounds familiar ? I just don't like a wrestler who gets too repetitive on the mic and NO, IM NOT A CENA FAN !

Yeah I still Watch WWE although I gave up on TNA after Flair Betrayed Fourtune. I have been finding WWE interesting lately with the whole punk being a A****** and all, plus the revitalization of he Tag Team Division

I loved the WCW, still have some VHS tapes of some of the wrestlers like Kevin Nash and Goldberg.

As for Hell in a Cell, I want Ryback to crush Punk. That dude is freakin scary but I hope he can take hits as good as he can give them.

I speak, at heart, because I'm a creative soul myself. More then once have I fired up Adam Ryland's Extreme Warfare *Revenge* and played armchair booker. If I had jobbers on my roster, they are not merely Jobbers. I once packaged Nova (Simon Dean) with the gimmick that he was a Basketball player turned wrestler, Nova B. Ball... Sounds retarded until you realize there is a guy in Chikara doing the extact same damn thing.

The only interview I'm really judging him off of is the one he did with R.D. Reynolds, of Wrestlecrap.com, and maybe I'm wrong but I take him at his most honest when he says things like the hardest thing is coming up with new shit each and every week and to come up with gimmicks for all these wrestlers. He told the story he agonized for weeks over what to gimmick to give Val Venis.

I'm just saying, if I was a worker (and I've spent an extremely limited time training towards the craft, so I like to at least pretend I know a thing about a something) In the best world? I want Paul Heyman booking me. In the very worst world? I want Vince Russo, guy may fuck up but damn it at least he tries. In my pro-wrestling hell? Stephanie McMahon, the woman that thought "Matt Hardy, Version 1" wouldn't get over.

As for David Arquette, consequences be damned, homeboy winning the tittle DID amount to free ink being given to WCW and slots on Access Hollywood and Entertainment tonight. The idea behind that move wasn't to please wrestling fans, like you and me. We'll watch pratically whatever they put before us, at least that's the mindset. The idea of putting the title on him was the free ink and maybe attracting a handful of new people that never gave Pro-Wrestling chance watching it just because it's on access hollywood.

Yes, he should of lost it like the next night on Thunder. He should of never mainevent a PPV with it, but in terms of the ultimate goal? Free ink? For WCW, it made sense in that regard.

Russo hasn't be involved with the TNA Product for over the year, but I'll fight to the death the value of keeping Hogan on your TV Screen. Remember that reality show he did, Hulk Hogan's Micro Championship Wrestling? Sole reason I gave it a chance is because his name was on, and I knew Eric Bischoff was the executive producer. NAME VALUE MATTERS, is the reason I'm getting at. Aside from Kurt Angle, I don't believe there is anyone that tell the WWE audience about that will make them want to try it... Maybe Jeff Hardy.

You say Hulk Hogan is involved, to any wrestling fan alive today? Unless they're Bruno Sammartino himself, their interest is going to peak souley for the fact it's Hulk Hogan.

And thats the thing, when TNA debuted on Spike it garnered an .8 rating. Since then I've always took that to mean that the entire hardcore interfanbase equals the .8. TNA is not going after me and you, they are going after the WWE audiences and the rest of the 7.Something rating prowrestling lost in the mid 90s.

...I'm not even sure I've made a lick of sense, I'm rather drunk.... But basically yeah, Vince Russo may suck but he tries harder then Stephanie McMahon.... And TNA needs bid names to draw in viewers.

I'm actually looking at wrestling schools and am gonna try to enroll soon. I've loved wrestling ever since I was a kid and continue to watch it every week (if I can't watch it live I DVR it).

I come from a sports background, and did a lot of theater stuff as well. To me it's the best of both worlds. You get entertainment, stories, promos (love the stuff CM Punk's been doing over the last year) and it's really something special when you get to meet some of your favorite guys.

So far I've met, talked to, and gotten autographs from 2 of my top 5 guys, Mick Foley and Rick Flair. Hopefully gonna fill out the top 5 and then some one day.

I follow a few people who sum up the storyline progressions, and if there's a promo or match worth watching I'll look up that section. I usually actually watch WWE live around the road to wrestlemania, when they usually bring their A-material, and shortly afterwards. Still, there's a lot of enjoyment to be had so far. And yeah, Punk's the most fun part of the show.

I stopped watching TNA in the middle of the Immortal storyline. I've heard they've gotten better, and the from matches and odd episodes I've seen, it does seem like it, but there's still clearly some improvements to be made.

Hi there! I'm a big fan. Part of an E-fed even. :3 I was always a fan, mainly of the old WWF, and by extension ECW. They had my old favorites from WWF in it, such as Raven, the Dudley Boyz, Dreamer, Tazz, and MIKE AWESOME. Although what I probably liked best about it were the tag teams of the day, and I'm happy to see a resurgence. I didn't watch that much WCW, but was aware of it, just like how I am about ROH, TNA, CHIKARA etc today.
RIP ;_;7

I'm a huge wrestling fan. I watch WWE and TNA on occasion, my real love lies in the indies, though. PWG, Chikara, SHIMMER, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, etc... Not so much into ROH as I used to be.
