I've always worn my watch on my left wrist, whenever I put it on my right it feels disgustingly wrong. Is this just because I am used to it being on a certain wrist, or is it ingrained like which hand I use to write?

What do you guys think?

It seems that most right-handed people wear a watch on their left wrist. But I'm left-handed and would also wear a watch on my left wrist.

I guess it boils down to personal preference?

I'm right-handed and wear my watch on my right wrist, it's just what you're used to.

It's for practical reasons. The idea is that you put your watch on your bad hand so you can check the time whilst leaving your primary hand free.

It's not a big deal though.

left handed, left wristed here. If I put it on my right, I end up looking at the empty left wrist automatically.

Damn you Habituation!

I used to wear my watch on my right wrist even though I'm right handed. Then my parents smacked me, told me it was wrong, and forced me to wear it on my left wrist.

So now I wear it on my left wrist due to force of habit.

I'm right-handed and wear my watches on my left wrist. I'm pretty sure this is because it's much easier for me to fasten the watch band with my right hand. Now I have a stretchy-band watch that just slips on, but it still feels really weird to put it on my right wrist.

I write with my left, and wear my watch on my right.

I just do it so that if I'm writing (such as in an exam) I can look at the time left without stopping writing.

I think its simply a personal preference. Mine goes on the right, same reason my wallet feels weird in my left pocket as opposed to my right. I am left handed also.

I'm right-handed and I wear my watch (which I never intentionally leave home without) on my right wrist - for whatever reason wearing it on my left wrist feels completely backwards, like that time back in my showchoir days when one of our costume changes had, inexplicably, women's style zippers. That stupid jacket perpetually baffled all us guys because women's zippers are freaking backwards for no obvious reason - you think, I know how zippers work, how hard could it really be? Turns out there is a surprising amount of muscle memory at play, and seemingly insignificant changes throw everything off.

Left handed, but facing inwards towards my body. This apparently such a strange style of wear that I had a girl comment on it. Said that she wore it like that to, but only because she learned it from her Marine Grandfather.

I wear it on the right and I'm right-handed. I don't actually like it, and would like to change it, but I'm so damn used to it by now. My grandmother has her on the wrong side of the wrist, the palm side. It's all about what you first did. This could have used a poll.
