So I got L.A Noire on Steam recently due to it's release on pc. I was pretty darn excited since I drained Skyrim for all it was worth and needed something else to play on. The download kept pausing itself and not continuing which really got on my nerves after the first 4 days. Today I was going out for hours so I just left the damn thing loading the whole time and now it's paused on 91%.

Turns out this is an actual problem with the game. Im using the wrong kind of harddrive believe it or not. A "FAT32". I got a bigger harddrive for Christmas to dedicate for my Steam games and fit more stuff on at once. From 200gb to 3tb, quite the upgrade. None of that means a damn thing though because for some reason it's the wrong kind of harddive and steam being the lovely system it is wont let me move my games to different places. All I can really say to this is: What the shit??

Anyone else suffering from this? I paid full price for this game too, I jumped the gun too early before it went 75% off. So either I move all my stuff BACK to the much smaller harddrive or download on two harddrives and disconnect one + restart Steam every time I feel like going on L.A Noire. Excuse me while I rage...

How to convert a FAT volume or a FAT32 volume to NTFS

Note: Although the chance of corruption or data loss during the conversion is minimal, we recommend that you perform a backup of the data on the volume that you want to convert before you start the conversion.

To convert an existing FAT or FAT32 volume to NTFS, follow these steps:

Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
At the command prompt, type the following, where drive letter is the drive that you want to convert:

convert drive letter: /fs:ntfs

For example, type the following command to convert drive E to NTFS:
convert e: /fs:ntfs

Note: If the operating system is on the drive that you are converting, you will be prompted to schedule the task when you restart the computer because the conversion cannot be completed while the operating system is running. When you are prompted, click YES.

When you receive the following message at the command prompt, type the volume label of the drive that you are converting, and then press ENTER:

The type of the file system is FAT.
Enter the current volume label for drive drive letter

When the conversion to NTFS is complete, you receive the following message at the command prompt:

Conversion complete

Quit the command prompt.

And you can move your games to another hdd, you just copy the steam folder and moves it to hdd you want and then you start steam from that folder.
