In the new Bioshock trailer the character was pulled out of a miniature but living rapture, with plastic pieces on the floor. So does that mean that rapture was all a lie??
True - these aren't the tf2 SPUF forums.meganmeave said:Besides the trick, it could also mean that the main story has something to do with Andrew Ryan. Surely someone has to design Rapture before it was created, so perhaps that's a model?
Of course, this is reading a lot into a 3 minute trailer...
Hmm well in BioShock 2 they definitely make mention of the building of Rapture, but hey maybe at the end of Infinite the floating city will crash in the water and then Andrew Ryan just builds off that/makes it water proof.TheNamlessGuy said:No.
1. Rapture was once as living as that.
2. I highly suspect Columbia of being Rapture.
It's not a model, because if you look closely at the bottom of the city when the aquarium lights up, you notice that there's writing that says "Chicago" something.meganmeave said:Besides the trick, it could also mean that the main story has something to do with Andrew Ryan. World's Fair I believe. That would be the correct time frame anyway.Maeshone said:It's not a model, because if you look closely at the bottom of the city when the aquarium lights up, you notice that there's writing that says "Chicago" something.meganmeave said:Besides the trick, it could also mean that the main story has something to do with Andrew Ryan. That's the one! So, I doubt it's a model of Rapturemeganmeave said:World's Fair I believe. Actually, apparently you're playing as Booker DeWitt, a former agent of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency, or at least that's what the released info about the game says. Given how much BioShock 2's story changed between the initial story announcement and what we actually got, though? (and yes, I know Infinite and 2 are being done by different people).dathwampeer said:I was actually just thinking that. Ryan was an idealist that I always imagined just got bittered by circumstance. Playing as him in this and seeing what inspired him to make Rapture would add some real depth to the story.Mr. Elemenopee said:Well I'm just thinking this and am wondering if anyone else has either. What if you get to play as Andrew Ryan in this game? And that was him in the trailer? Wouldn't that kinda be neat if you could play as him and see how you kinda set things up before you screw everything up later on?
Didn't Tenenbaum develop Adam before Rapture? During her time with the Nazis?DazBurger said:So many people say prequel.. The trailer shows a girl using telekinesis, like before seen with plasmids.
But ADAM was first found at Rapture?
the game's set in 1912, since the original bioshock took place in the late 50s, it has to be a prequel.DazBurger said:So many people say prequel.. The trailer shows a girl using telekinesis, like before seen with plasmids.

iirc, adam was discovered in rapture, well, outside of rapture, but still within that specific timeline, it was a by-product from some sea slug that was indigenous to the waters surrounding rapture, that's why you get adam from from finding the slugs in bioshock 2 when you're outsideSephychu said:Didn't Tenenbaum develop Adam before Rapture? But Columbia is a sky world. And in Bioshock 2 you're given a history of the making of Rapture.TheNamlessGuy said:No.
