I thought this was still a beata anyway
not played it yet but my m8 was banging on about how good it was

I hope so. Still though, people care too much about graphics now when most games look great enough.Flack said:He probably just had his settings down lowSaelune said:You lost me at bad graphics. Playing on the PS3...unless you were being sarcastic?Flack said:He probably just had his settings down lowSaelune said:You lost me at bad graphics. Jesus CHRIST I take back what I said about the graphics. Why would they ever do such a thing?IamSofaKingRaw said:Well to be fair, I downloaded the demo about an hour after it released so it was probably because no one had it yet.Jaime_Wolf said:I've never heard of anyone having to wait 45 minutes. My guess would be that this is more than slight exaggeration or you have some tremendous network issues.IamSofaKingRaw said:I read all the hype surrounding it, watched gameplay from the other platform demos (PC, 360) and tonight I finally played it. (And by finally I mean after sitting for about 45 minutes searching for a match)
I haven't seen much of the PS3 graphics, but I can't imagine it's much worse. There'd be no reason for it to be given that the PS3 has more graphical power than the 360. If the demo is having problems, I imagine they'll be fixed in the final game.IamSofaKingRaw said:-The graphics aren't good. I'm talking MW2 bad, I don't care its a demo because the games coming out next week or so. so many pop ins, it reminded me of Gears of War. Add to that that the 360 and PC versions look WAAAY better than the PS3 version. Thanks for half-assing our version Crytek. -___-
Wait, so you want a hitmarker? Or you want there to be no headshots? Or you want the guns to be more accurate? Or you want the guns to be less accurate so spraying is harder? I'm confused. Personally, I detest hitmarkers - you don't need an indication of when you hit someone, the indication is how incredibly better you'll do firing in bursts (use less ammo, fire tighter, kill enemies faster). If other people are spraying, that's GOOD for you, they'll tend to do a lot worse.IamSofaKingRaw said:-The gunplay is HORRIBLE. There are no hitmarkers so everyone just sprays the guns randomly until someone dies. You don't even know when you are hitting someone. Its so frustrating watching a killcam of some guy spraying the gun around in a circle then all of a sudden the killcam goes into slowmo and ONE GODDAMN bullet headshots you.
The maps I've played on have been among the best-designed in any FPS I've played. The vertical dimension is much more pronounced and, given your better ability to nagivate that dimension with higher jumping, faster movement, and easy ledge-grabbing, it actually feels like a nice way to add some real strategy to deciding where to engage enemies from on the map.IamSofaKingRaw said:-The maps are HORRIBLE.
They handle quite differently. Different accuracy, different rate of fire, different spread.IamSofaKingRaw said:-All the guns feel the same. Th SCAR, and that LMG kill with the same amount of bullets
I think this would count as an "opinion". I really enjoyed the mix. It has many of the features from realistic shooters that I've come to like (nearly obligatory ironsighting for example) and mixes it with other elements to speed the game up (faster movement, more vertical levels) and add some variety (cloak for instance) while helping eliminate some of the problems (armor mode to make fights in the open last a bit longer).IamSofaKingRaw said:-The game plays like Halo mixed with COD (not in a good way). COD with the terrible spraying gunplay and killstreaks, and Halo with the armor and health. Did I mention how terrible the gunplay is?
I suspect that this might be due to your ping or to the graphics themselves. From a programming perspective, it's incredibly more likely that hit detection is fine, but the tracers you're seeing are lagged or just slightly inaccurate. Also, I've never really thought to look, but I doubt every bullit leaves a tracer, so it's very possible that you're just happening to see bullets that missed with tracers while the bullets that hit happened not to have tracers.IamSofaKingRaw said:-Hit Detection is BAD. I've watched killcams of people shooting the air next to me then I'd just drop dead, wtf?
As I said, I haven't really played the PS3 version, but I haven't heard of this problem before and it definitely doesn't show up in the PC demo. That sounds like it would be really fucking annoying though.IamSofaKingRaw said:-The thing I hate the most though is that when you respawn for some **** reason you can't move and have to sort of jump around before the game will allow you to move forward. (IDK maybe its just for me but that pisses me off.)
Yeah THE GRAPHICS ARE WORSE than the 360s.
I want to know when I'm hitting someone. Whether by showing blood splattering out of the guy I'm shooting or by showing hitmarkers. As it is, everyone (or the people I've played against) all spray the gun every where because no one knows whether or not they are actually hitting you or not. I've tried the crouching, burst fore tactic (I play KZ a lot, thats basically the only way to kill anything in KZ) but still, I have no idea if the guy should die with my next burst or if I even hit him.
You may be right about not every bullet not leaving a tracer on the killcam, but when you watch your killer SHOOTING at the space you are not occupying and getting a kill for it, its really frustrating
I don't really like the maps, especially the Pier 1 one. People respawn in random places so you never really have a sense of where the enemies are coming from.
I think the PC version may be better (Crytek are mainly PC devs aren't they) but the PS3 version absolutely made me not even consider buying this game new. Rent or used copy for me (if the SP is any good)
Actually it should be Who Cares = It's Unimportant = It All Looks Fine.Fenring said:YOU'RE BOTH WRONG! The 360 actually runs better than the PS3. It should read PC>360>PS3Uncle_Brainhorn said:Fixed.jobobob said:-Graphics go PC>PS3=360.

Yeah, I did that with Crysis 2 and did not get the "this is beautiful" feeling.

That doesn't make the graphics bad, just not stellar.
We hope.Xzi said:A new Timesplitters game?Palademon said:Crap, what will Free Radical do to prove themselves NOW???!!
*Crosses fingers*
actually, its more like PC>PS3/360 when it comes to multiplatform games. theres usually either no difference, or a very minimal difference between PS3 and 360 versions of games.jobobob said:-Graphics go PC>PS3>360.
I hate to add to fan-rage but i gotta agree, 360 version looks significantly better than that. I've got it booted up now and there's sun-shafts, particle effects, better specularity, and... well it just looks nicer.Deshara said:Wow, are the 360 graphics better?
