As I woke up this morning I found myself with the urge or somewhat a need to want to play space invaders, I for one am not much of a gamer; I own 5 at the max of games. After scuttling around my attic I find the old atari 2600 which of course still loaded had indeed the space invaders game inside.

The loading times for this game were impeccable as I walked down the shop for half an hour to find it was only just finishing on return, I had bought iron bru and a packet of pork scratchins, but thats besides the point, Whilst waiting for that final moment as to when my game would finally load I found myself enthralled with retro glee as only I've felt once before in life.

With space invaders they take no time to throw you into battle the objective simple the story line impressive, flying toward the earth was nothing but some pug ugly aliens, I knew what I had to do, and doing what I did wiping out the horde of oncoming aliens, their tactics somewhat predictable as they maneuvered from left to right; and right to left respectively; Wave after wave of alien horde the levels becoming harder, better, faster, stronger with every wave.

The game leaves you with a dramatic and somewhat survivalist feel as your cover is beaten away by the oncoming onslaught of aliens whom relentlessly strafe towards the earth, me being the only one who could save the world, this game gives that one story line which never really gets old "Save the world from " and so I did, sooner or later the enemy horde over runs you at some point which indeed is like the end of doom 95.
You die, No matter what even with the cheats. - doom 95

After defeating at least 20 waves of these aliens it occurred to me I was not going to win, with one final barrage I was defeated, my cover destroyed and me left breathless by the sheer intensity of the game, I had been beaten. With tail between my legs and heart in hand I returned my Atari to its rightful resting place.

This game.. I whole heartedly reccommend it to any gamer who sees himself as a gods gift to try this, I have but one thing to say; regardless of skill in gaming you will be tested for all you're worth.

The only sad thing is, death is inevitable and gets really boring doing every wave again after your lives run out.
