So, it's been 9 years since I picked that game up and played it for the first time. It had promise, but sucked horribly. Poor network issues, poor physics, poor graphics, huge memory leaks and required a monster rig to play on for a less than average game.

I tried it again last year and although they revamped pretty much everything, it still sucked. I logged in where there was supposed to be some action taking place. Get there and get stuck in a wall. I relog and end up running on foot to the nearest town and see nobody and nothing other than my own side sitting there twiddling their thumbs.

The game's supposed to support up to 10,000 players but apparently they have a very thin player base of people who have been playing for 8+ years. Makes it really hard for a newcomer to enjoy.

It just seems too massive. The last time I played I spent 30 minutes driving down a road to where there was supposed to be something happening only to find on one there. I drove another 10 minutes down another road and got blown to hell by a tank. 40 freakin' minutes of nothing for 2 seconds of action!

If there really were thousand of people on, it would be a fun game. You could start talking tactics and strategy but when every firefight I've seen is 3 vs 2 and that's considered "action" I question whether it's fair to even consider this game an MMO.

So my question is, does anyone still play this game and if you do, how do you get around the "barren wasteland of loneliness" that seems to come every time you spawn?

If you have played but don't any longer, what made you give it up?
