X-COM is one of those games with the fans that will, no matter what, always see a reboot or sequel as some sort of sacrilege.
Perhaps it is because I have never played the original game and have only watched others, but I can say from the demo that the new X-COM is a vast improvement from the original. The combat is, of course, improved due impart to the more streamlined UI and the graphics update which makes everything a whole lot clearer. I know I am going to get a lot of flak for mentioning the word 'streamline' and 'improved graphics' in a positive sense, but there you go.
I also loved having the ant farm like base and being able to look in and see what everyone was up to. Little things like that and the memorial wall from where you can see all your fallen soldiers are what really make you feel like you are the head of this top secret multi-billion dollar international project.
I pre-ordered this as soon as I finished with the demo and now I have a first world problem where I cannot decide if I should play Dishonored or X-COM. HELP! D:
