Who else loves this game? And for the love of all things that are holy, when the hell will they make a new version for this generation of consoles? Or at least, release some port on Xbox Live Arcade. I want to play it on a console or I want to play a new version.

There is a Playstation version of the game if you really want to play it on a console so badly. The rest of us will stick to Dosbox on the PC, I guess.

Yes, I love it, but I would only want a new version if they could do justice to the gameplay. There are not many people or companies who I would trust to do that and I would rather nothing was done with it than something crap.

I want it polished, and put on xbox live. I don't want them to change the game at all. I don't want it to turn into a fallout 3 beast. I just want to play it with my friends online.

I would also be very surprised if they worked on the original source code for that and did a decent job. If they did I would want to play at least on a platform that supports mouse control which even the Playstation version did.

XCom isn't a multiplayer game so I don't see the value in Live. Maybe you should try Laser Squad Nemesis or hope for a 360 port of that.

There is a multiplayer version of it, UFO 2000.

Not sure on the legality though, so do search at your own risk. It's also PC only.

Part of me wants a new version of this, but I just know they'd end up changing things to make it a different type of game, like removing turn-based combat.

It`d be nice to see i guess though i haven`t touched it in nearly a decade and my gut feeling tells it won`t have aged as well as i`d have liked it to. but the main problem here is that the rights to the game are a mess and that`s what`s stood in the way of any remakes or even a budget edition publication you see of nearly every golden oldie PC game (and a fair few that were and still are utter shit)

I don't think that the rights are a mess. Take-Two/2K have the rights and you can buy it now on steam.
