All of these look bland or terrible. Most are in street clothes, I hate Quicksilver based on looks alone, and Magneto's mix of bulky torso armor and silky pants is troubling.

Quicksilver looks troublingly old to be this Magneto's son, also this version of Magneto isn't even silver haired yet Quicksilver is. All pointing towards them not being related and not being father and son.

This is Wolverine and Sabertooth all over again, just destroy character back stories at will, why not.
I'm assuming that Quicksilver will be from the future, and a Magneto from the same time will look much older.

-Judging from his design alone, Quicksilver is going to be unbearable, just the absolute biggest jerkwad imaginable.
As far as I remember (this going from my memories of him in the 2nd iteration of X-Factor) he is pretty much a jerkwad in general so it would fit. I never really liked him as a character anyway so yeah. Much like Cyclops in the X-trilogy pretty much fit with my already established dislike for the character due to his attitude and general douchebaggery.

Other than the one who looks like somebody shrunk Ron Burgundy, they're not particularly imaginative.
I don't see the Ron Burgundy, but the Game of Thrones little person should totally be cast as Tony Stark's mini-me in the next avengers movie.

Plus, wasn't Bolivar Trask already stablished in-movie cannon as some beefy, bold black dude (another change that was just there for the sake of it)?
Yeah, but it's kind of funny, before I finally caught who the guy was in the credits, I was sure the beefy, bald black dude was Apocalypse in disguise and that Fox was saving him for the final movie... another way in which the third movie disappointed me.

Well not sure how I feel about some of the costume designs but this is still my most anticipated movie of 2014. The only thing that really strikes me as weird is how the Sentinel looks like a robotic Turian from Mass Effect. Anyone else see it or am I just seeing things?

I thought Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (with no connection to Magneto) were snatched up for The Avengers 2 in exchange for some rights thing with FOX about Daredevil or something? Did that get VETO'd or something?

OT: Quicksilver looks REALLY stupid. He looks like an emo reject or something. I didn't have much hope for this movie to begin with, but the more I see of it, the more faith I lose. Marvel needs terribly to get their stuff back from these companies (because Amazing Spiderman 2 looks SOOOOOOOOO good)...

Dat Magneto...

I need to buy more X-men comics, I'm only vaguely aware of some of these.

Really looking forward to this though, I actually really like all the X-men films and the quality of superhero films recently, I'm sure I won't feel let down.

I hate Quicksilver the more I look at him. He just looks like something designed to be universally hated.

Aside from that, the Beast looks kind of strange in high schooler clothing and the Toad's goggles are really weird looking but everything else ranges from alright to good.

Who's the guy in the military uniform?

Also, not convinced really. The costumes just look a tad off to me, and I think this films either going to be over saturated with mutants, be shallower than a mid teens dude-bro or be way to long.

However, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan! (Please correct me if either spelling is wrong) Yay!

Huh. I am really hoping that after effects will make those costumes pop more. Otherwise, I fear for the film. I have faith that Singer and the storyline can bring the franchise back, but nothing about these costumes screams "homerun" to me.

Moreover, I dislike "Quicksilver's" look, and Magneto's costume looks like spandex under kevlar. His final scene outfit in First Class was much cooler.

Sentinel looks about how I expected, I don't anticipate fearing the thing until I see it in spectacle, at full height, literally toasting people left and right.

This keeps adding up to being some damn awful scattershot of characters on-screen. When will the carnage end? I too wish Marvel got the rights back because Fox keeps going with the "the more, the merrier" attitude for the screenplays, add also the "add more Wolverine" formula. No focus, no coherence, nothing. There is a reason that the Days of Future Past arc (and all those big comic events) take place in multiple comics for a long time. It's necessary to take time to develop the characters and the situation, not squish it all into two hours. *sigh*

Also, I get Game of Thrones is all the rage, and Peter Dinklage is awesome, but why on earth did they change Bolivar Trask this way? I see no point at all. Plus, wasn't Bolivar Trask already stablished in-movie cannon as some beefy, bold black dude (another change that was just there for the sake of it)?
If I'm honest with you I reckon a good 80% of the characters will be there only to make up numbers in the "future" section of the timeline whilst the main story follows the First Class cast and the rest of the mutants will just get maybe 30 minutes of screen time in action sequences trying to get Wolverine sent back in time to fix the past and then most of them will die after they send Wolverine's mind back.

Eh, judging from previous movies, as long as they hire enough actors and actresses from the commonwealth, things will be fine. All the people I wanted to see more of in the franchise happened to be played by British, Canadian or New Zealand people. There was also an Australian that was there as well.
