If they had got ANYONE from twilight in that movie I would loose every single bit of respect I have for X-Men, no matter the incarnation.
How is that horrible? He's not Jacob Black you know, he's an actor. Just because he was in Twilight doesn't mean he carries some kind of a plague with him...

Well, I suppose it wouldn't be too bad. Taylor Lautner isn't a terrible actor, he's just in a terrible film series. Hell, I'd almost support giving the Twilight actors other film roles. I sort of feel sorry for them, because it's obvious how much they hate being in the movies.

Although I have never seen him act I have been told that he is quite good, but that said I dont think he could of played an X-men charcter and definetly not a young Wolverine.

And could someone tell me what X-Men:First Class is?

Good to see that not everybody is blinded by hate for the Twilight series.

Taylor Laughtner... Well, I don't think he is the greatest actor in the world, but he can act. Goes for almost everyone in the series.

Kristen Bell was really good in Adventureland and Robert Whatshisface actually has a pretty good career outside of that series.

Anybody remember the hate for Heath Ledger back in the day purely for the movies he was in? Do you realize how good of an actor he was?

well that doesnt make sense
Wolverine has always been an adult no matter the incarnation
im just glad they didnt cast him so they can have time to come to their senses

what is with the reboots Marvel spider-man and X-men didnt comeout long enough ago
its probly just for adding them to your ongoing universe your building but they will have to live up to some of the best comic book movies ive ever seen

He's pretty yummy.

I reckon you could convince quite a few teenage girls and young women to see a film by casting him and making him get his shirt off.

EDIT: Oh, and I suppose some guys as well. I mean, I haven't seen any of the Twilight films and don't plan to, but if he was in something better and was appearing shirtless for at least a little while, I might consider watching it.

its a reboot of the X-men films
reimagining the X-men as younger

Its a little annoying to hear people call him a terrible actor because he was in Twilight. Learn to separate the actors from the awful piece of crap they're being paid to try to make better or burn to the ground from the inside (it's hard to tell which).

Okay, I don't care if Taylor is in an X-Men movie or not, but man are they wringing this Wolverine thing to death. Now we get to see him as a kid? What?

Having grown up when Wolverine was this enigmatic mystery I don't think I care much for this whole, "let's dissect his history" craze. He was much more interesting when nobody, not even him, knew about his past.

Plus, it made for more interesting internet discussions. Marvel has gone and ruined the whole "Where did Wolverine come from?" threads.
What really makes it bad is how they have retconned everything so that WOlverine played a role in just about everything that has happened in the history of the 616. It was cool the first time when he had helped Cap and Nick Fury during WWII but then they went overboard with him working with Peter Parker's parents and he was the first to notice Mary was pregnant with Peter. They had (not sure if they are still doing it since I quit buying Marvel) the Wolverine Origins comic that should've just been called Wolverine: Retcon where that's all they did.

If you type cast yourself as a particular kind of actor. Like every nerd kid actor now adays. Its hard to move horizontally away from that in the movies.

Think about why you see actors like Jim Carrey or Robin Willaims doing serious roles, they're trying to break out of their stereotypical role their known for. Some times when you see some one who is insanely popular (Imagine the Harry Potter actor trying to play anything else) you'll immediately recognize him as that.

It's more about what you're trying to portray to the audience. Actors bring with them, not a plague (well to some they might) but an attitude and prior expectations.

Some times you really win in those roles, and other times they become serious jokes.

Whilst he might be a decent actor (I wouldn't know), X-Men and Twilight should be as close to each other as a serial killer and a twelve-piece knife set. Surely they only want Lautner in so that all the teenage girls will go 'ZOMG JACOB IS IN TEH Z MENS LETS GO TO TEH MOOVIEZ GAIZ!!!11!'.

(Although I hate how he always seems to be walking around with his shirt off. Which does not qualify as decent acting. At all.)

I feel bad for both Pattinson and Lautner, especially Pattinson. He is a very good actor hamstrung by a contract to a very bad series.

Let this be a lesson to you kids, money isn't everything.

Perhaps if Taylor, Robert and Kristen died people would like them more too. To clarify, I don't hate them. It's just hard to distinguish them from the trees they are running around (they are wooden actors, ie: no talent [The Twilighters, not Heath]).

He only did the movies because he wanted to hookup with Kristen.

Dude! Really? I haven't read those, I stopped a while back, shortly after the Origins comic.

They Boba Fetted him.

Seriously. See now, this is what happens when a character who for some reason becomes simply too popular. Suddenly he shows up in everything, even though there is no real reason for him to. This character is now the reason the universe exists. It's re-goddamn-diculous is what it is.

The entertainment universe has learned nothing from their mistakes.

Well thank god THAT didn't happen.

I don't know about everyone else, but I personally prefer to keep Twilight and X-Men faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar apart from each other.
Amen to that. Also, just because he plays a CGI werewolf does not make him qualified to play wolverine. You can see how people would think so, but those people are wrong.
