So, with the reveal of the NSA spying scandal in the US and the fact that several US companies were giving a ton of information to the US intelligence agencies, it's time for tin-foil hat style conspiracy theories!
I'll start things off by saying that this is why the Xbone has a mandatory Kinect, so that Microsoft can record everything in the room and then give that data to the NSA.

I say that Microsoft has seen the expenses of developing for the console market and now with the release of their first best console they will drive the american masses into pc gaming. If it`s not the case i just hope they keep burning.

Edit: i believe that people can`t be that dumb and that Microsoft is out to destroy the console market.

There's no way that anyone that wanted to keep something private (like OMG! Terroristz) wouldn't even need an Xbox so it seems silly for the NSA to force Microsoft to make a game console in order to reveal "Top Secret" information the people might be hiding.

What you think terrorists don't like to relax between blowing shit up with a good game of halo during their down time? Terrorists are people too you know !

OT: conspiracy theories are so silly . I mean really , there are better more effective ways of spying on people than using a console people may or may not buy .

Besides, where else would they get their practice killing people if not Halo and Grand Theft Auto? These aren't called murder simulators for some silly, arbitrary and prejudicial reason, after all!

Captcha: Stop asking me how likely I am to apply for a Discover It card. I said no three minutes ago, and my answer hasn't changed!

Especially given the way the NSA is already gathering data. It actually seems like a less efficient way to handle things.

They've been in on it since 2007. Now the truth is out and I will never touch another Microsoft product again.

My conspiracy theory is that Microsoft is deliberately releasing a shit console, so that everyone has to buy a Windows 8 PC instead. I also think they'll probably record a ridiculous amount of information about the user's movements on their servers.

I can't see that working out.

Windows 8 is rapidly approaching Vista levels of failure and lack of market penetration, the UI is passable on a tablet but crap on desktops, and has been behind a major push by Valve and other companies to develop for Linux.
