Oh, it seemed like you guys were saying that the game broke your systems because your systems broke while you were playing the game.
My system broke when I was playing the game. However, I was just joking that Quake 4 is so awful my console decided to die rather than play any more of it.

Like that house on the Simpsons that killed itself rather then have the Simpsons live inside of it.

And by the way, I really like that Latin thingy you posted, mate. I know it wasn't what you meant, but it's still really cool. I got what you were saying though. I'm pretty sure Quake 4 didn't break my console. I just have bad luck when it comes to electronic gear.

I've broke a Rock Band guitar, an MP3 player, a Discman, about a dozen pairs of headphones, a VCR, and a computer. None of them were on purpose. And I'm not a klutz or bad with electronic stuff at all. Just bad luck.

I have had, in my history, had a hard drive on a laptop fry, my original PS2 break down, the A/V cord on my SNES tear, and have my 360 do a prima donna and refuse to do her job i.e. read discs, so electronics hate me too. And a couple of PS2 controllers, but that was because I threw one at the wall, but missed and hit my old entertainment center, and the other because I pounded against the ground. I had some minor anger issues.

I've smashed two controllers in my life. The first time was a PS2 controller over a Kingdom Hearts 1 boss (Riku) and the second was my 360 controllor against my chair after a frustrating run of the Halo 3 campaign. Both survived, but they both have very noticeable marks on the bottoms.

I've yet to throw a Wii-mote at something, but I'll bet my bottom dollar that I will sooner or later.

The companies need to increase controller durability. Some games are so hard, you just can't stop yourself whipping something at the TV. ie Bioshock when going for the Brass Balls Achievement. Just....fuck.

My first controller was broken playing GTA:SA (the mission where you are trying to take over the mansion) and resulted in a crack that ruined the left analog stick, and the second one was fighting Night Terror on SC3 and resulted in the right analog stick getting jacked up.

I thought about getting this game. I'm glad I didn't. I love to customize what I play as in games and that aspect nearly sucked me in. Then I remembered how frustrating it was to pilot/drive/herd whatever you want to call it mechs in games like the mechwarrior series and decided not to get it. It's like a cross between driving, first person shooting and herding a lame elephant (not that I've ever herded a lame elephant but I have herded lame bulls and I imagine herding lame elephant would be even harder and slower like a mech game is.

I liked your review by the way.

The HOUNDS in Chromehounds aren't that hard to wrangle. Sometimes they get funny ideas about which way their legs should be pointing, but mostly they behave.

Also, they do a good impression of being Big And Stompy.

Yeah, alot of people commented on how my dig on the game about the crap steering was unfounded. I'm beginning to think that may have been user error. That, and I never figured out how to install better computer chips. I don't think my copy came with a manual, it was used, so I guess there's the reason.

Big and Stompy eh? Two things that go together like bread and butter. Meat and potatoes. Dr. House and awesome.

I have Chromehounds and thought as slow paced as it was it was still good. The pace adds a sense of tactical warfare unlike armored core when the game is bout who has the bigger weapon which sadly isn't you. TBH i think your stupid for not playing multiplayer as that is were all the fun is. I only do the campaign for the game score, other wise there is no point if your good. I wasn't good and benefited from the free parts the campaign supplies. The multiplayer also has a good clan feature which allows you to be tactical.

and there is no point being a scout as speed isn't a good thing in this game. artillery fire right across the map is way better.

This game shouldn't even HAVE a single-player mode. This is like reviewing a game based on the tutorial level, because that is seriously all the single-player game is. It's a very extensive tutorial. As for controls and the like, I found them to be just fine. In fact, I would still be playing the hell out of this game except for a couple of serious issues:

First off, the very emphasis on teamwork that this game is supposed to encourage often makes it fall flat on its face. A well-coordinated team will usually... well, for lack of a better word, they will usually ASS-RAPE a less organized team. The problem is that a lot of the time, neither team is very coordinated (because squad tactics in this game are too esoteric for most players, I guess), and battles turn into a huge clusterfuck where the winners are usually the ones with the most ridiculous HOUNDs, and a LOT of luck on their side.

Secondly, the persistent 'Neroimus War' multiplayer mode (the main reason I bought the game in the first place) is fucking broken. In part, this is because the means to plan things on a strategic level and the incentive to do so are not well-developed enough to make it feel like a war. The other problem is that what ends up happening on a strategic level is (as far as anyone can tell) largely determined by hackers and people with WAY too much time on their hands.

It's not a bad game, but it COULD have been a very good game, if not for those problems.

If two sides both try to shell each other, and one side has a scout to act as a spotter, the side with the scout will usually win. On top of that, scouts with piles and bomb launchers can take out an undefended base in a frighteningly short period of time. Oh, and if you have a good commander and a good scout, the other team can't do much of anything without you knowing.

Without good teamwork, though, only that second point counts for anything.
