Now, this is a quick fix for a problem I've yet to have a friend RL not encounter almost immediately after purchasing their 360.

Problem: Does your 360 controller cut out, regardless of the status of your battery? This is for you!

1. Remove battery pack. If you have this problem, they shouldn't be.
2. Remove the battery that's sunk-in.
3. Fashen Take a normal paperclip or (in my case) thin wire. Fashen a hoop on the end, and scoop the hoop around the metal connector. Give it a slight tug outward (Careful, people) and it should be good to go.
4. Double check to make sure the batteries are even.

Ugh. More cheap Microsoft workmanship...

Tell me wizard, is there a way to easily remove the dpad on a xbox controller and replace with the newer model

Hm. We only have one controller that does this, and it was in the last 2 days. Pretty good considering I've had the 360 since release. I'm surprised to hear it's a common occurrence.

I'll see about doing this fix on it. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh yeah, quite common. This is the fifth controller I've had to perform this fix on, within the past four months. This is my second controller of my own that had to be fixed. I cannot stress enough: Be gentle. Oddly it's almost exclusively the side with positive-out.

This I do not know, but will immediately look into for you. Don't want to post stupid or potentially harmful info.
