Hey guys I need some technical support as I don't want to rely on xbox support that much.

My Xbox Elite has a green screen every time I turn it on an I cannot see anything except Green all across the screen. I can however hear everything as normal and could potentially play a game, but wouldn't be able to see what I'm doing.

Does anyone know of anyway to fix this or had this problem before? If so what did you do?

EDIT: It's not the cables guys if I wanted that kind of help I would have asked Xbox customer support

EDIT2: I should also add I have this problem playing on HDMI and I have tried on the other input and had the same problem. It is also not the TV

EDIT3 I do mean that it's not the cables when I say that. I have used HDMI and the other one that comes with the xbox and I own more than one xbox and tried using those cables which had the same affect.

If you're using HD make sure the wires are all in the right spot, it can be confusing the first time.

Make sure you've got the video input cable in properly?

I'm not sure, that's what I do with my Wii.

Are you sure it's switched on?

Just remove everything, then replug it all in again. Should work!
I can appreciate that you are trying to help, but it is NOT the cables, that was the first thing I tried as I am not a complete retard in this kind of area. If you know of anything that causes this please let me know as I am willing to take it apart to fix the problem.

Well, if you've tried two different cables with the same result, I think you can rule out the cables or the television. Which leaves the XBox.

Sadly, the best folks here will be able to tell you is to contact XBox support. For what it's worth, many people have had good experiences from them.

If your cables are in properly, the settings on your TV might be wrong. After you check the cables, check your tv settings.

Edit, ok so its not the cables or the tv...

It can still be the cables. Sometimes the wiring inside a cable starts to fray, if you're not getting full signal or no signal at all through the video, (which happened to me) you might be getting green screen. IF you have any friends with xbox's, try their cables. IF they work then yours have frayed internally and need replacing.

Alas no it is not as simple as that. The xbox has previously worked on the TV and nothing has been changed on the TV settings wise, also I took it into GAME to get it checked out and the same thing happened on their TV

Well then, you probably won't get much help from the escapist community, unless a Microsoft tech support guy is on here while at work...

It looks like you'll have to call them. Worst thing that happens is they make you send it in. And since you have other 360's you can just use one of them while you wait for it to get back.

Call the support line.

It may be annoying when the person says" Hurro, relcome to xboxsh live custoomer souport, how may I help you?"

But it's better than the internet!
