xbox 360 problem

ok people plz help.I've bought a xbox 360 and everything went smoothly..then suddenly a PROBLEM.When I insert a game in the tray,I close it but,the tray always opens and I can't play anything.Why?
It opens even when I shut down the console.

Dunno if this qualifies as help, had a friend with one that did the same thing. You're gonna have to get it replaced man.

I had the EXACT same problem except it was with my PS2... when it fell off the stand it was pricariously placed on....hate to break it to you...excuse that pun.....but it'll have to be repaired/replaced/refunded...

one thing. try pushing the tray in forcefully, not too forcefully mind you.

might be a gear caught. this would, if it works, only be a temp fix.

Try slamming it as hard as you can against a wombat.

That's going to be as much of use as anything else you can do on your own, so take it to the shop.
