This one is an unusual problem...I've looked around online and I've only seen one like it. It isn't a red ring of death problem surprisingly either.

My problem is that the Video does not come up on my TV screen anymore. I've done everything from "resetting to the defaults" to taking out my harddrive. Nothing is working.

I had started to notice that the colors while I was playing Gears of War 2 were turning into an even darker shade and my PS3 tap on my multi-tap for the wires was broken so I decided it was time to buy a new multi-tap AV cables. I hooked them up and everything was working great...Until I decided to fix the settings on my Xbox. I changed them to 1080p instead of 1080i on accident from 480p and I was treated to a completely black screen with just the sounds still working. I was alarmed and so I hit a button without realizing it and now that seemed to have been set as the way I would see it. I called up my brother to guide me through the menu's and apparently no other options work anymore either. The power is still green, no Red Rings, and I can still move through the menus since I hear the sounds. I've tried other AV cables and no luck. Now I ask, could this be something with my Xbox internally or what? I hope its just something else, but my PS3 works with the cables so...I'm guessing it is my Xbox =( I've had it for 2+ years with no problems...

If you have NXE and are set to load the dashboard automatically do the following.

press up once
go right all the way
press A
press A
press A
press A
go up all the way
press A

that should set it to 480p.

EDIT: sorry, I omitted a few A pressings originally

Check on your cable. Make sure the switch for HDTV and TV are set the right way. Also make sure cable is plugged firmly in.

I'm thinking this. I'd check your cables. I don't think it's a pixel problem. If all else fails, call Xbox tech support, they'd be more helpful than us.
