Xbox 360 "slim" or PS3 Slim?

I am looking to get a updated console, and I am either going to trade in my old crappy xbox and get the new version, or I could keep the xbox and get a slightly more expensive PS3 w/ a couple of games. I am tilting towards the PS3 Slim but I am still very unsure.

Also as a side note, please no one start any flame wars... :/

You know, they both have various exclusive games that are rather different. You could take the time to research the consoles and see which one has more games that you would like, as your preference is likely very different from everyone elses...

Doesn't the PS3 slim cost as much as the latest 360?

Oh well, that's not relevant.

I say get the PS3. If there is one thing I believe should be promoted it is diversity in consoles. I don't know if your old crappy Xbox is working or not, but if it is, then saving it for 360 exclusives while having the PS3 all else would be a great idea. You'd get the best of both worlds.

EDIT: Oh wait, it's not a 360, but the first Xbox?

BURN IT!

Well, I'm still going to recommend the PS3, because I prefer its library of games.

before I was bored so I watched this massive 12 part series about the console wars between Xbox and PS3, PS3 won by 1 point but I got an idea about what to expect.

Old crappy Xbox? You mean the original one?
which has bits which are dodgy about it but still works well mostly.

All of your money that was desired has been transferred into my account.

As in a series on Youtube or on TV? Either way, that's barely research. Look into what each console has made, and is making as exclusives and decide on that, with your own preferences. I don't know the games you like or really anything relevant to either console, so asking this just boils down to "What do you think is better?"

I would look at the exclusives they are offering and what you already have. As a person lucky enough to own both I have to say either way your losing something.

My advice

Xbox 360: If you stay with the 360 consider getting both Halo: Reach and Gears of War 3 when they come out. I assume you already have other 360 games.

PS3: If you get a PS3 buy the MGS Series. Seriously you could get all 4 games (3 come in a bundle pack) for like $40. Do it. [sub]
and maybe consider God of War 3, if you like that stuff[/sub]

I'm saying the PS3 because it is a pretty kick ass Blu-Ray player.

Also, because of Gran Turismo 5. The very reason I got a PS3.

i quite like a few of the games exclusive to the PS3, and the system itself looks reliable and easy to use.

I'm just thinking about the cost of all the PS3 games that I might have to buy... either that or I could borrow some games of friends

I would go with the PS3 slim if it were me but that is probably because I've never had bad experiences with a PS3.

Just buy a few of the games that you think will either preocupy your time the longest, or take you the longest to beat, and borrowing would always be a good option. You could also just rent games if you think you can beat them before they're due back, as that saves a lot of money in the long run.

I don't rent, mainly because I like to switch between games often and would prefer to have the game instead of just owning it for a short while, but I'll search around for good games which seem pretty long and interesting. That Uncharted game is apparently pretty good and NFS Shift as well as I like racing games.
