So I just got Gears of War 3 today. I turn on my XBox and sign in. A pop-up tells me that a system update is available, thinking nothing of it, I download and wait for the console to restart. Upon restarting a pop-up informs me that "Some features/data is missing or unavailable." and I must restart the console. I restart. Finally I sign in and insert the game disk, thinking I'll finally be able to enjoy myself. The screen fades to black and the Microsoft and Epic Games logos appear on screen in the GoW signature red on black. I'm at the main menu, several pop-ups inform me that my stuff from the beta is unlocked, cool. At last, I can start the campaign! I select single player and a loading screen appears... this is taking a bit longer than usual... The game starts. After the opening/flashback thing I start the actual game. I step out of Marcus' room. "Holy sh*t this game looks like crap! This can't be right!" I think to myself. "This disk is unreadable." a pop-up informs me. I restart the console and sign in. "A system update is available." another pop-up reads... ok whatever. I download it and restart the console again. The 360 logo appears, then "Some features/data is missing or unavailable." "GOD DAMN IT!" I shout and throw my controller to the ground. I place my controller on the floor like a normal, rational person. The console restarts and I find myself back at the dashboard. I sign in and try to play the game. Something similar happens. Must be a problem with the hard drive. I remove my data to a thumb-drive and format the hard drive. Then I put my data back on the hard drive. I sign in "A system update is available.", download. "Some features/data is missing or unavailable." "A system update is available." "Some features/data is missing or unavailable." THAT'S IT! I log onto my laptop and go onto the XBox support site. Doesn't seem to be anything like my issue on here. So, defeated and frustrated, I turn to my fellow Escapists for help.
