I got mercenaries 2 two days ago. I went on it and started playing. I updated the game which didn't bother me.
The fact was, i went on Fifa 11, modern warfare, fable 3 and then on saints 2.
After on all 4 games i went back on mercenaries. this game was out of my "recent games list". so i had to update the game again. basically, why do you have to re-update games just because they aren't on your recent games list? I mean, it doesn't destroy the update so the latest patch is saved on your xbox. does anyone else get annoyed by this? i'm sure you have all experienced it before...

I haven't, it sounds like something to do with your xbox.
That said, my xbox went through a phase of updating every time I put ANY game in. It's stopped doing that now, though.

Sounds like maybe there was more than one update in a queue, and your Xbox only applied the updates one at a time. So after applying the first one you needed to reboot Mercs again to initiate the second, and so on. Multiple updates are a possibility, especially for a game that's been out as long as Mercs 2.
