Then the problem is with your router itself most likely most connection problems are caused by wireless issues, you might have to change the settings on your router, I wouldn't have a clue where to start but someone else might.

EDIT: Yeah i know i'm really helpful with my generic information sorry.

Tried recovering your profile?

I got a similar message a while back when I forgot to recover my profile after playing at a mate's place.

It's most likely you MTU is too low. MTU stands to maximum transmission units, it basically means that your router can't send enough information at once. Changing this setting won't do anything harmful, heck, it might even speed up your internet. As I hear, most Linksys routers are by default too low.

However, the best way to solve this, like I did, is by going to Xbox.com and looking up the problem. They've got it all covered comprehensively with simple solutions.

If this is the problem then you'd have to have your friend delete your profile on his xbox, I had a problem with this once, but no error message.

You don't need to delete the profile, just recover it on your system. If your friend tries to use the profile for some reason, it will tell them to go recover the thing

Yeah, check MTU, and make sure your NAT type is "open." Other than that, it'll have to be a call to xbox

I don't know if it's "shite" or if you're just slightly inept at working with the internet.

I spent two minutes on Google and XBox.com and found this, which I believe is your error:

Yup, my Linksys was pretty low, so I just upped it and shazam, it works like a charm.

Also, try bypassing your router, plug into your modem and see if you can connect then.
