Does anybody know what two flashing red lights on a 360 means?
The other night my xbox was being particularly loud, then today when I went to play it was again very loud then just switched off and two red lights started flashing.
Any help anyone can give me will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Does it come up with a message on your screen when you turn it on? If not google it, just "xbox 2 red flashing" and you might get something, if there is a number type it into google and the first link is usually their site explaining the problem.

Yeah rrod is 3, thank god its not that.
It does look like overheating and that's what my friends said, just though I'd come here for a second opinion.

No notes, sometimes it works fine for about 10 minutes and then it just dies and starts flashing, sometimes it goes straight to flashing when i turn it on.

Could be one of th fans has gone or something? Does it feel overly warm? At least with RROD you know exactly how to get it fixed!

I had 2 lights.
I plugged it directly into the wall, rather then a power bar. And I took it out of it's narrow place where I had it to get better air flow. Worked great for a few more months.

Then I got Error E74 or something.
Had to send it in.

That's why i wasn't sure it was overheating originally because it didn't feel warm at all. The fans look and sound fine when i start it up.

2 red lights on the xbox 360 light ring indicates that the system temperature has risen too high. Microsofts support link is below.

this is NOT the rrod. this is an overheating error, however, if it occurs consistently within15 mins of turning on from cold, then the fans may have broken

I've put it in an open space in my room, shall leave it like that then try again tomorrow. If it still does not work then I shall have to contact MS or something.
Thanks for the help guys.
