Lol, you paid for xbox live.
That's what you get.
I assume you play PS3 after making that comment.

Now allow me to ask you a few questions.

Looking forward to the new Gears Beta?
-Didn't think so seeing as you can't play it.

How's your exclusive games?
-O beat God of War last year did you?

How's party chat?
-O thats right your user interface sucks.

Having fun being in the same game lobby to talk to your friends?

People who own both will say Xbox is better because of that last reason. $5 is a small price for a superior experience

I assume you are a fine-taster. (Hidden pun... Or is it?)
Well, a very, very paranoid one.

Well, you could just, you know, troll and have the laugh of your life getting banned. It's not like with McAfee when even the God-fucking uninstall tool you have to download separately won't even work! FUCK FUCK SHIT FUCK I HATE MCAFEE GRROROAAAARRR!!! I even tried their phone service... Much fucking obliged asking me 10 questions on WHY I wanted to uninstall it. *Sigh*

But, my point being... Get banned, and McAfee sucks sandy camel balls.

I'm on the phone right now cancelling my xbox live account and I just have to say what a pain they made it to cancel. It's very easy to sign up, you can do it on your xbox but to cancel? Well, you can't even do it online. You can do pretty much everything else under the sun online but to cancel you actually have to call them during bussiness hours Monday to Friday.

I know why they did that, to make it hard for people to cancel so they keep paying out of laziness but I just wanted to say how much it annoys the hell out of me that this is just another money grabbing tactic they employ. How about making a decent machine that doesn't red ring of death me every few months, or coming up with decent games that I actually want to buy instead of resorting to these kind of tactics.

Bah!
This doesn't work anymore?
Only works with Americans.

You know it's super easy to change the payment options to pre paidcards and just not top up your account... I do it all the time.

Also: Quit the Fighting (Ps/Xbox} I have an Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, Pc, and GBA and they all suck

This is what you get for being an assumptious fanboy.

I bought a PS3 and built a PC (both significantly more expensive than the initial price of an Xbox 360). So the response to anyone who purchases another system is usually "Yeah well look at our exclusives Halo and Gears of War... and Halo... and Gears...".

Don't you think if I'd wanted to play either of those I'd have bought said cheaper console?

But all of that is what the point is not, the point is that any subscription service should have a secure online cancellation process. Given that you only get work hours within a work week to cancel. This makes it awfully hard for anyone to cancel if they have a job which requires permission to make personal phone calls.

This :3

I haven't got an Xbox but i get it. It's usually very inconvinient when companies pull that trick... Especially if said call is being stretched out with "please wait while we handle your request".

Companies should just do a simple "Cancel subscription" button somewhere...

A lot of companies make it hard to cancel. I remember trying to cancel Comcast internet and they shuffle you from person to person and put you on hold and it ends up taking like an hr to cancel. I guess they hope you just give up and still pay for their service.

Also When I work full time in the summer, I get a lunch break where I'm free to make as many calls as I like. If you don't get a free lunch break, you need to join/form a god dam union.
Have you ever worked on an IT support desk for local authority? At about 2-3 calls every 5 minutes only one desk can be empty at any one time. And the 5 minutes allowed are usually for bathrooms, snacks, leg stretching etc. Lunch breaks as well are on a rotation so the service desk always has at least 5 people on one of their 6 desks.

But again, not really the point. Fact of the matter is that it's an inconvenience to the customer. A lot of other services run a 12-7 phone desk to take cancellations and have online cancellation; with the money Micro$oft make from XBL, add revenue, sales etc. wouldn't it be more efficient to just confine the call centre to issues and use the web cancellation as a primary method?

But you still get a lunch break, and it would have to be significantly longer than 5 mins. Customers are not the priority of any business anymore, customer service has gone out the window. The customer is never right these days.

Go to your local game store and buy a prepaid live card. Yeah, you'll have your live service for another 3 months, but after that expires, just don't renew.

Well I bought it using a card and it actually said before the day 'turn auto-renewal off?' or something similar.

Moral of the story:Get the cards. Sadly, they're over-priced over here in NZ but I still pay up. Damn you Microsoft!
