XBox LIVE update problems...

hrmmm...my xbox won't download the new LIVE for some reason...it keeps giving me error messages. I've checked the NAT settings and altered them appropriately so that's not it...any suggestions? Because i"m supposed to meet my bf on LIVE today for some Fable

Going to sound stupid and you have probably already done it, but the first thing I do is turn off my modem for about five minutes then turn it back on again. After that maybe just checking the connections on your 360 (if it has an external wireless adapter) and making sure that there is enough space for the download to fit. Hope it helps.

This has happened to me too, and I even ran a connection test to check. It wouldn't let me finish the check as just before the final part is finished, the update warning comes up, but I can only assume that means it's connecting fine.

I am having problems and it is frustrating! I try to do the new update but it tells me that I am having connection problems. So, I try EVERYTHING and nothing has worked. I called XBOX themselves and they send me to Xbox.com/support. And that website is not working right now. So, I'm only going to assume that they are having connection problems and not just me? Because everything checks out from my computer to the xbox and my network. I have a perfect connection from my internet but I can't get this stupid update to work. Anyone have any advice? I know some people have done the update with no problems...how did they do it!? Please help!

I get into the update (the white screen) but then it shows me this number error code and tells me to check my Xbox Live connection and my Xbox Live connection is just fine

Yes it does the same thing to me! Im thinking that it has to be a problem with xbox themselves. I called them AGAIN and they said they are having a massive problem. Server overload from so many people trying to update at once or something... So, I guess we are all screwed until they work out the bugs.

A problem I have is that avatar awards and props don't work right now. Not that it's a huge deal.

On a side note, is anyone else creeped the fuck out by the new avatars?

Try signing out and signing back in, it should ask you to update your system. It worked for me at least.

I'll tell you what the only issue is....the party chat sound quality.

Everything else is personal preference.

The new level of quality for party chat is...it just leaves me lost for words. Its like two tin cans joined by strong.

I honestly dont know why M$ would want to punish us in this way

I got it figured out finally. I had already unplugged my modem and all that but see I have at&t and there is a cord plugged in that goes from the xbox to the actual cable box that is what connects us to LIVE and i didnt unplug THAT one. so i unplugged it for 30 secs and plugged it back in and the update went right through. I'm thinking it is just a glitch so try unplugging everything for 30 seconds and then plugging it all back in. Someone told me to do that and it does work. good luck and dont bother calling xbox because its like a 2 hr waiting period...apparently, everyone is trying to figure this thing out...
