Talk about the a right pain in the arse but these NAT settings are driving me crazy.

I've always been a console gamer, I've never really been into computers and such, so trying to sort out these NAT settings is insane. The "Guides for Dummies" on how to change NAT settings are just as mind baffling

E.G.
"Once you got your XBOX's IP address enter it in the NAT Port Forwarding table (From - To - IP address: those are the 3 fields you should have on the table if you are using SUA NAT)"

WTF do I do!?!

Jeez, as I said I don't do computers, give me guitars or something that I understand, but since when did trying to make simple guides to fix a problem become so cramped with jargon!

So ending my gripe and onto my question. Does anyone know how to change NAT settings from Strict to Open for Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox in a way that computer illiterate thickos like me can understand!

The problem with writing guides for something like this is that there are so many different routers, each running different software. So setting up can be a nightmare.

If you have todo any port forwarding i've always used [link]http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm[/link]
They have a massive list of routers with a guide for each one and a list of all the common ports different things use.

Hope this helps

I suffer this too, got a stupid ass BT Homehub. I just get around it by resetting the Hub, which automatically puts NAT at open. Eventually the hub will snap back to Strict after a few weeks but I just reset it again.

I've read everything about it, from Port Forwarding to Demilitarized Zones (which may or may not be the same thing) and I can guarantee a bit of my brain dribbled out of my ear afterwards.

NAT is a pain....
I've tryed to open it since Mw2 was released
Soulution:
My dad changed the internet provider, means a new router, means open Nat

I know it sounds dump but the best way to open a Nat is to replace a router (if all else fails of course)

I have the same thing, i thought it was just me who had to occasionally reset the router. Who knew there were others

So can you just reset the BT Homehub and it'll work for a few weeks then just reset it again?

I hope that works cos i have one

Me and my friend both had that problem but for some reason it just went away on my xbox. I have no idea how or why.

Yup, Hold the button for 10 seconds then wait a couple of minutes for the lights to stop flashing and it should be good as new.

You know what Sun Flash, I'm incredibly surprised because I reset my homehub and now my NAT settings are open and working fine

Thanks for the help.
