Of course Sony didn't include a mic with the original PS3 and no one cared at all.

If Sony were charging us out the nose for that cheap looking piece of junk then yes there would be rage.
I suppose coz it looks like a standard phone hands free "headset" and everyone uses those so don't really care?Vivid Kazumi said:that just looks ugly e-e edit:how the hell would i use that seriously?why isn't anyone making a hit piece on this piece of crap?ZZoMBiE13 said:The PS4 comes with an ear bud with a dangling microphone. KrrrrrmmmmmmpfffffkhhhhhpfffffAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!"The Wireless Controller has been redesigned to allow for higher data transfer speed between the controller and the console," a Microsoft representative explains. "This also required creating a new expansion port design for headsets and future controller add-on devices which is different from a standard audio plug input."
I think they also saw that Apple was successful, and decided the reason was that Apple uses a closed ecosystem for their products, read by Microsoft as "Because it's easier for the consumer! Of course!"TIMESWORDSMAN said:SNIP
There was an article last week about leaked plans for a "patch" that would reinstate the DRM a few months AFTER the initial launch of the device, I believe it was called "patch 1.2"Severian said:Waiting for reversal of the DRM reversal announcement soon. Wouldn't surprise me at this point lol.
Considering that there were issues during the XBox One reveal with people's Kinects following instructions from the video while they were streaming over XBox Live.... Yeah, I doubt they had the foresight to program the thing to filter any sounds/voices originating from the XBox. Which will be even funnier when the trolls start telling your XBox to switch to TV in the middle of a COD matchOwyn_Merrilin said:This.Phrozenflame500 said:Because they want more money. Seriously, it seems pretty obvious they're trying to milk as much accessory money out of the xBone as possible.
Also, as someone who uses the mic built into his laptop for voice chat while gaming, often in conjunction with a full 5.1 system (you know, the kind that's even more likely to be used with a console than a PC), they'd better have some /damned/ good noise cancellation built into that thing, preferably of the sort that can recognize audio that originated from the Xbone itself and selectively remove it. My mic is obnoxiously noisy even with the noise cancellation Microsoft built into Windows 7 and careful tweaking of the levels, it only works because PC games tend to use push to talk.
The vibrations from the system fan alone is enough to make it sound like I'm gaming next to a jet engine.
It does have voicechat and comes with a free headset.Mick P. said:PlayStations don't have headphones or voice chat features right?Phrozenflame500 said:Because they want more money. Seriously, it seems pretty obvious they're trying to milk as much accessory money out of the xBone as possible.
Really though, now I hope that Sony advertises "Accepts all headphones!" as a selling point.
