The release date has finally been set for the Xbox One in it's first tier countries. It comes out a week AFTER the PS4 contrary to speculation going around online. While I don't think a week's head start will gain the PS4 that much of an advantage, do you think the average game consumer would be swayed to buy the cheaper console sooner?

Yeah, it's easy to predict the PS4 lead unless Microsoft tries to engage in some illegal activities to sabotage the PS4 launch and sales. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

It also wouldn't surprise me to find out that the Xbone has serious issues. I am really interested in seeing how well both consoles will preform at launch.

Optimistically of me, I think that the two companies have probably learned their lesson from all of the technical difficulties that arose out of last generation. I still have concerns, for instance the PS4 housing seems rather small (comparatively) and only has exhaust ports out the back. I really hope that they have thought out their ventilation and done extensive testing to make sure it doesn't brick after a long gaming session. While the Xbox One looks to have their ventilation in order by housing their hardware in a massive box with a massive fan, all of these last minute changes makes it look like they should prepare for unforeseen consequences.

That being said, I'm buying a PS4 at launch, and I'll be crossing my fingers that the launch hiccups are minimal.
