xbox overheating

recently my xbox has been overheating repeatedly for no apparent reason, then I remembered that it just started getting insaneley hot around NYC with no warning at all. I want to test my theory-
if any of you have xboxes and live in NYC , have they been overheating these past few days?

try cleaning ventilation holes on it.

Try not playing it for hours on end. That might be stuffing it up.

Clean the little vents, and is it an newer model? Leave it in an open space. Also, clean the little vents in the power brick, too.

Bah... i told my xbox if it couldn't keep pace with me i'd dropkick the SOB. Hasn't hiccuped once, although his buddy did... and he did it out of warranty. I painted a Black circle in the middle of it and shot it up with a 22. Good fun... good fun.

Make sure you dont have anything on your xbox... and that it and the big power box thing have plenty of ventilation... seems to have worked for me, i have 8 hour sessions sometimes and no problems yet. Matter of time of course, but i tell you what 360's make excellent targets.
