Xbox Sound Help Thread

Hi all,

Its time for me to ask you all for some help. You haven't let me down before.

So I just upgraded my crappy audio cables on my xbox to a fiber optic one. Now I get true surround sound through my receiver and new 5.1 set up. Its no HDMI, but its a start.

So now my subwoofer won't play any sound when I play my saved music from my hard drive. The sub plays during movies and games, but not for music. Its very odd.

Your amp's set up to recieve a DD 5.1 signal and play it back in 5.1. Your music will be recorded in stereo and could be messing with the amp. Have you tried setting your amp to stereo/2.1 stereo/5.1 stereo/7.1 stereo?

I've owned quite a lot of DD amps over the years and each has had its own little foibles and quirks.

Does your amp have a pro logic setting? Your music won't be in 5.1 so you won't be missing anything if that method works.
