wow why do people even think of creating these threads anymore...

is it really that interesting anyway?? And if you really want to know use the search bar to find one of the other countless threads about this subject.

And whilst you are looking, take a minute to observe how those threads went. Because I can guarantee you they all ended badly.

Rant over :)

This.

When I look at any versus threads I will always see people predicting a flame war. Funnily enough it doesn't happen.

I was thinking that. All the elements are there, you can almost feel the tension and teeth gnashing. Maybe the mods have both keys inserted ready to drop the ban hammer. That might keep it civil.

PS3 for me. I just get more use out of it. I prefer the exclusives particularly although that is becoming less of a problem. I even prefer the controller for FPS games (which is something I never thought I would say)

I have to say it, even though other people have already done so. Versus threads are not welcome in the best of times due to their pure flamewar potential, and this is not just that, but it's also on a subject that has been ridiculously done to death.

Out of those, I'm a 360 guy. But I play most on the PC.

I prefer the PS3 because the smaller controller fits in my hands better, someone a little bulkier might prefer the 360 for the same reason. Graphically the Wii is the only one lagging behind and it makes up for that by having all the fun little Nintendo exclusives. As much as I love Little Big Planet and as fun as Halo looks they fall short of the combined Nintendo series by quite a long way. So all in all I'd say consoles are balanced.

These flame wars are stupid. Just get the console that your most happy with, and have the most enjoyment with.

If people were truely happy with their console, they wouldn't have these stupid "wars".
Only people that regret getting their console and are jealous, would insult competing ones and do anything to claim theirs is superior.

Its just a matter of personal choice, not of "which one is better".

For the question - I'm a PS3 person. What can I say? I'm happier with my PS3, and that's all there is to it.

wow. aren't these against forum rules? yeah, anyways, i choose 360 and PS3. So i can, you know, play games like LA Noire and Red Dead Redemption. Oh, and so i can enjoy having the best games made for me first then other places second (best versions, you know?)

I have all 3, but I'd have to say my favorite is the PS3.

I have the Wii because it was cheap and the first one I bought. Now I mainly keep it around for a few exclusives and because that's the system I have all my music games on and I wasn't about to rebuy them and all the instruments.

I have the 360 because at the time it was cheaper than the PS3 and had several games I wanted to play such as Gears of War and RE5 (not a Halo fan, that's why it wasn't mentioned). Yeah, RE5 wasn't exclusive but since it came out on 360 as well as PS3 it helped push me in that direction.

Eventually I picked up the PS3 because it dropped in price to something I was willing to pay plus it had several exclusives I wanted to play, but was unwilling to pay the higher entry price before. Plus it plays blu-rays. And I also like not having to pay to play online, mainly since I don't play online much anyway, I see no point in having to pay extra for something I only do once or twice a month. Most of my games I go online with are on PC anyway.

Now that I have them all, I buy multi-platform games for my PS3 and only pick up stuff for the other two if they're exclusives.

*sigh* I really thought this discussion was over. It really depends on what you want to do with gaming as to what system you get and will be happy with IMO.

I have all 3, and NEVER touch the Wii, I despise the motion control, I can't enjoy the games.

Xbox360 and PS3 are so similar in so many ways. I've always maintained that the Xbox360 is great for online multiplayer. Xboxlive is a great way to accomplish that...sure there are things that could be fixed...but overall, it's stable and it works.

The PS3 is really solid on it's own. Blu-ray built in. 3D ready. If I remember right, developers haven't quite tapped all of the PS3's capability yet. Online is atrocious tho. It's just not stable or secure (as we all learned recently)

This is the standard answer I give when people ask "What console should I get?"

Wii - if you have kids and you just want to be a casual gamer.

Xbox360 - if you really like shooters, online gaming and dont want a PC...Xbox is totally the way to go. Capabilities are solid. If you want a "gaming system" Xbox is probably the way to go. Oh..and Kinect is gonna be huge I think..just gotta wait for it to get there.

PS3 - out of the 3, and excluding PC's, I believe that the PS3 is more of a "true" multimedia device. It does games, it does Blu-ray (which like it or not is the new format), it functions as a multimedia hub for music, video and pictures (yes, i know the Xbox can too, I just prefer to use the PS3 for that)
Netflix access does not require a paid subscription to PSN.

Games, in all honesty, I think are almost secondary. Most games are cross platform anyway so, really, it's all about who's exclusives you want, and whether you want solid online. I personally believe if you consider yourself a "real gamer" you'd own all 3, play the system you like the most for your cross platform titles and get the exclusives for each system that you want to play.

That's just my opinion though. Most of "which is better?" is personal preference. Each system has it's pro's and con's.

Made a personal bet to myself. And I won. OP is less than a month old.

This has been done to death. Surely there was another thread to be commented on than start yet another thread?

My platform of choice is PC.

I prefer the online, the interface (steam ftw), having mods and free dlc, and being in control of my hardware.

Of the consoles, I prefer the 360. Features like custom soundtracks, trials of arcade games, and the overall interface is intuitive.

In terms of exclusivity among the consoles, PS3's got the edge (for me) with games like Gran Turismo 5 and MGS4.

I like them all but with the PS3, I prefer the exclusives and tend to get the most use out of, Yet, I actually prefer the 360 controller for FPS and also enjoy some of their exclusives, and the PC is for my classic old games and a few PC only titles.
