*sigh* I really thought this discussion was over. It really depends on what you want to do with gaming as to what system you get and will be happy with IMO.
I have all 3, and NEVER touch the Wii, I despise the motion control, I can't enjoy the games.
Xbox360 and PS3 are so similar in so many ways. I've always maintained that the Xbox360 is great for online multiplayer. Xboxlive is a great way to accomplish that...sure there are things that could be fixed...but overall, it's stable and it works.
The PS3 is really solid on it's own. Blu-ray built in. 3D ready. If I remember right, developers haven't quite tapped all of the PS3's capability yet. Online is atrocious tho. It's just not stable or secure (as we all learned recently)
This is the standard answer I give when people ask "What console should I get?"
Wii - if you have kids and you just want to be a casual gamer.
Xbox360 - if you really like shooters, online gaming and dont want a PC...Xbox is totally the way to go. Capabilities are solid. If you want a "gaming system" Xbox is probably the way to go. Oh..and Kinect is gonna be huge I think..just gotta wait for it to get there.
PS3 - out of the 3, and excluding PC's, I believe that the PS3 is more of a "true" multimedia device. It does games, it does Blu-ray (which like it or not is the new format), it functions as a multimedia hub for music, video and pictures (yes, i know the Xbox can too, I just prefer to use the PS3 for that)
Netflix access does not require a paid subscription to PSN.
Games, in all honesty, I think are almost secondary. Most games are cross platform anyway so, really, it's all about who's exclusives you want, and whether you want solid online. I personally believe if you consider yourself a "real gamer" you'd own all 3, play the system you like the most for your cross platform titles and get the exclusives for each system that you want to play.
That's just my opinion though. Most of "which is better?" is personal preference. Each system has it's pro's and con's.
