That's why you don't play impossible, it's not hard, it's just aliens with a bunch of extra stats for no reason.
That, and faster panic and more aliens per map.

The lower difficulties are just more forgiving; the same bad game design is present, it's just masked because you can screw up a little more without being punished heavily.

If this comes with a patch to fix some of the remaining issues then it will probably be enough to get me back into XCom. I really like the game but the problems it occasionally runs into can be enough to make anyone rage quit.
Changes and fixes are coming. Some skills get rebalanced or even changed entirely. Currently known list:

Thank you for the information.

I am glad to see they have fixed the teleporting alien issue. Playing on Classic mode and having a squad of sections miraculously appear in the middle of your squad (in a secured room no less) was what got me to quit it last time.

Another cool feature I noticed was that injured teammates can now have their items unequipped rather than having to manually remove and re-assign them each time. It was a nuisance having to go through dozens of screens to equip a new squad each time.

The price says $30, not sure how much it will end up in the UK as they never exchange directly, but I reckon I will give it a shot if the price is good.

Hmmm.....more Xcom.

I hope they fixed some of the graphical quirks. While I find it hilarious when a sniper headshots an alien through a wall, it sorta breaks the immersion a bit. Still, I loved the remake and this "expansion" will be on my purchase list.

I remember seeing a video where the Massive Chalice guys make an interesting point about X-Com - over time you essentially "become the aliens" (with the tech development and ultimately the psychic research). It's interesting to see how in this expansion that becomes even more true, with your now being able to field genetically altered troops and cybernetic troops. It's really eerie when you think about it, and on the one hand I'd like them to emphasize that theme a bit more, but on the other hand I really like the subtlety of it as is.
