This is a simple request of help from the lovely community of the Escapist.

Can anyone find somewhere online where I can order a physical copy of Xenosaga Episode 1 for the PS2? I've been looking and finding only episode 2. Plenty versions of 2 going around, and the only versions of episode 1 I found are in dollars on amazon, and I'm uncertain of the system used.. or price, for a Brit like me to get an item from the US. Probably quite a bit in shipping.

So, can anyone find Xenosaga 1? Preferably with online order.

Also, on a slightly related note, any PS2 game recommendations? :D
My list so far consists of Persona, MGS, FF12, DMC3 Special Edition, and Xenosaga.

Problem with Xenosaga for us Europeans is, only Episode 2 came out here.
If you want Episodes 1 and 3, you're gonna have to buy either US version, or JP version. Which of course won't work on a "normal" PS2, if you know what I mean.

ouch, if you were on the other side of the pond, I'd tell you to go to Gamestop. Xenosaga Ep1 is all of $5 USD (I think that comes out to about 2 pounds sterling, iirc) And PS2s are cheap now. You can get 'em seriously easily. tbh, I'd be very surprised if GAME didn't have both items over there. Even more floored if you spend more than 50 pounds on the whole shooting match.

EDIT: Sarnath'd

That I didn't know. Thanks for the heads-up. OP, you could try to find an NTSC to PAL patcher, but that doesn't always work.

You can buy it off Amazon here.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/722674021364-Xenosaga-PS2-US-NTSC/dp/B00005BW7Q/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1303944740&sr=8-3

It won't work with a European PS2 however. You would have to buy a US PS2 for it to work.

Also, swap magic doesn't work with the disc that xenosaga is printed on (DVD 9), so you won't be able to use that.

It's such a shame to, as i have always wanted to play that game as well, but us europeans got shafted big time when it came to PS2 RPG's.

We never got, Xenosaga 3, Okage shadow king, Tales of the abyss, Devil Summoner 2, Grandia 3, Grandia Xtreme, and Radiata stories.

We also got a really dodgy 50hz port of final fantasy X to add even more insult to injury.

For recommendations however, i recommend Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's call (Nocturne), Persona 4, Star Ocean 3: till the end of time, and Rogue Galaxy.

I also hear that the Shadow Hearts, and Wild Arms series of games are good as well.

Only Xenosaga Episode 2 released in Europe? That is utterly ludicrous considering they are about as direct sequel as you can get.

Wow. That's.. actually really annoying.
I've been wanting to play Xenosaga for years. I finally get myself a PS2, start looking at games, and I -still- can't play it, even with the right console.
What's the bleeding difference between a US and UK PS2 anyway? Why make it different in the first place? GAH.

That's two games screwed over by the pond. This, and Dungeon Fighter Online, which looks awesome, was recommended by Extra Credits, but is not out for Europe. At all.

GAH.
